I have done this my whole life and it was one of the reasons why I did so badly in math classes. English, reading and spelling were always a breeze, so why would it only happen with numbers. It was like I could look at a number in front of me or one that I wrote and see it transposed, the numbers in a different order although the first one was always right. What is that? Is there a way that I can get help with it?

You are not alone!
Dyscalculia, the arithmetical equivalent of dyslexia, afflicts about one child in 20 in Britain and could make them cases for special treatment, Brian Butterworth of University College London told the British Association science festival at Salford yesterday.

Yes, it is called dyscalculia. It's the math learning disability. Read up on learning disabilities. LD can affect 5 areas...only one is dyslexia (the reading one).....that one tends to be more common than the one you have, or many people have more than one LD....like I said, read up on it.......I am sure there are some great coping strategies....that is the way LD's are helped....teaching people how to do things w/ their LD in mind. Good luck!
