Hi there,

I started the semester with some anxiety, now that that is gone, I feel apathetic toward everything. My personality and mood completely changes every second semester. I don't like college this semester. People are boring and the topic is also. No focus. i don't care much about the goals I had. Why does this happen to me. I've asking this question for a month now. I don't want to faitl, but I also don't want to do work. First semester, I'm usually really perky, stressed, goal-oriented and sensitive. Now I am the opposite. I don't give a shiite about anything. I don't live with regrets second semester.

...hi.

i see a couple of different items for interest here.

a.) the point that you begin well and with good intentions indicates that there are reasons you are there. but...

b.) are these your own ideas or are they someone elses..?

i think if you explored this more closely you will see you are only partly interested in college for reasons which are socially agreed upon and acceptable. perhaps your family and the burdensome of social pressures which cause you (and others in your circle) to consider and elect choices which are prospects for solving a future.

but i would ask that you consider moreso who you are and what it is you wish to do.

the reasons you are unfocussed are perhaps several but one very good reason may include you are not personally invested in the future others are creating with you.

it is so very common dilemma.

so......who are you..?....what do you want in your life in the present..?......future..?

this is where conventional wisdom is lacking of usual academic circles because there are very few good and proven techniques for satisfying a persons need/want to realize what is their own abilities/talents/urges and personal and social goals.

a lot to consider.....

anxiety......

the masses shivered in line waiting to put their partially conceived ideas into the signature which commits them to social acceptability....and maybe .... personal respect.

be well

At this rate, it's going to take you a long time to graduate, honey. Think about your goals. Are they realistic? If not, perhaps you need to aim for something else. Maybe "college" is not for you. Consider technical courses that keep you busy, give your a certification and a good job in the short term until you are really sure what it is you want. I always paired boring classes with at least ONE that I didn't need and I loved....pottery, art, music...it gave me something to look forward to. See your counselor for some professional help. Godloveya.

I regretted dropping. Especially when years later I added up how much possible income I had cheated myself from making....A psychiatrist gave me some meds to help....good luck!

****Hey, I couldn't reply to your email as you turned off email from your profile ******

To answer your question, no don't try to drop out. If you don't like the college or the subjects you are studying, then it'd be better to find another college and/or different subjects.
