Find a comfy chair situated in a well lit place, preferably before a window, and then paint what you see outside, paying special attention to the (natural) light. Sunrise, sunset or that magical twilight just between could be beautiful on the snow (or emerging thaw). Or just look up and do the sky.
It doesn't have to be a realistic depiction of objects (like the trees or house next door or whatever); just look at what the light does with the colors in nature. Beautiful!
Good luck!

In my narcism when i was younger (still young though), I always tried to convince every (well the few) artist i meet to make a painting and call it after me. It doesnt have to be a painting of me, just inspired by my name. :-) painters are naturally creative and they can do these things, tapping into some inspiration, and start painting the invisible. whatever comes from the heart. It could be fun, try it. (and if it is my name that you want to get inspired about, i can send a message to you. ;-) not doing self promotion, just one of the things i want to see done at least once in my lifetime...)
I hope this suggestion is appropriate.

Paint what your passionate about. Maybe your dog or favorite actor on your TV program........Gray's Anatomy? If you open your paints, lay out some colors and bring up a photo on your computer that inspires you that could be a good way to start. Have fun!

When I have a painters block...I sometimes listen to jazz or classical music & paint, sketch, mold a sculpture of whatever comes to my mind or gutt.
& A nice still life painting is always good & safe...

You should paint portraits of cats. Just their faces looking forward with some grass and trees or maybe psychedelic sunbursts in the background.
