Most women prefer tall men. My ex was 5'4 and I didnt care and I am 5'4 and want a guy who I need to stand on my tippie toes to kiss. Why is height so important?

Well, I'm only 5'3", but with four years in the Marine Corp I think I can protect my wife. It's not how big you are on the outside, it's how big you are on the inside that counts. Any woman that would choose a man based on his height isn't worth having.

It's a preference that tends to stem from the days when men were the protectors and providers. Would you feel more safe/secure with a tall/big guy, or someone barely your own size? (size being the only issue, not weapons, etc).
That's the basics of it...of course not everyone cares about height and many that prefer a "tall" guy will also date ones that come in under their preferred height range.

This expectation comes from the historical standards that men owned their wives. They chose women shorter than themselves because they could overpower these women.
After thousands of years of men owning their shorter wives, it became a social standard for men and women to seek out the "correct" height match.
There is no reason for men to be taller than their wives and there is no meaning to height. In fact, my wife and I are both 5'4" and when she wears higher heels than I do she is definitely taller. We do not care and neither should you.

don't want no short short man :-) because women base a guy's attractiveness based on his ability to protect them. In the old days, women looked for big strong men to keep them safe. So that is imbeded in our DNA now and we looks for guys who are big.

With me it's just a more macho thing and then to i am tall so i want a man taller than myself for some reason you just feel more secure.

Kinda sucks too you know i can't stretch myself, i'm ony 5'6. Now if i got a signed by a record label....hey..... it's just life. So i'm begining to think the only reason why a girl would want me is for my money. Argh!
