I think that you mean crunches. They are when you lay on your back and put you legs up, then try lifting up your head. Crunches work best if you are trying to improve your abs. I have never heard of crunchies, but have heard of crunches.

The basic form of a crunch is :

Lay on your back with your knees bent. Place your hands behind your head like you are going to do a sit up. Bring your knees toward your chest by lifting your feet up off the ground. Now, repeated curl your torso to touch your elbows to your knees.

Think of it as a situp lying flat on your back, with your legs off the ground.

do you mean 'crunches'? if so, they're abdominal exercises... you 'crunch' up your upper body to your knees hold for a count then release...
