It sounds interesting and I will probably watch it. That is the same night as The Dark Ages comes on History Channel so hopefully both will be shown more than once.
I am a Christian...but I am deeply interested in history, biology, anthropology, sociology. No matter what slant a show takes on an issue I usually find it worthwhile to watch and I trust Discovery and History Channel to do a good job of presenting things fairly.

I read what the Discovery Channel has up about it. It is a little short on details, but the ones that are there point to a pretty good case.
The evidence is that the names are all over the walls. It has Joesph, Mary. Son Jesus and James. Wife of Jesus Mary and son Judah. The DNA recovered shows the relationships are exactly what the markers describe etc. And the dates are all right. It isn't a slam dunk, but the odds of all the names coming out exactly the way the Bible story is are huge. This would be accepted any where if it didn't have conflicts with the Bible stories.
Here it is: http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence/tomb/tomb.html?clik=www_wh_1
I will certainly watch the full show on March 4.

I will definitely watch it! I think this is fascinating! Yes, it's a living example of "Seek and ye shall find!" Do I believe it beyond doubt, no! It will perhaps make me search deeper as to the why or why not, but it will make me pause to consider the possibility. I will have to reserve final opinion till after I actually see the program and how plausible it makes me feel that this could truly be the tomb of Jesus. It would be a miracle if that could be proven beyond the shadow of doubt. But we'll have to wait and see! I love that guy, the "Naked Archaeologist"! I watch his show all the time and he does present some interesting hypotheses which are very persuasive! He's more than good!

Is it a musical or a comedy? Cause it can't be real
Of the millions of people alive during that period (accurate dating is typically off by 5% one way or another, so 2000 years ago within a 20 year span (10 years back and 10 years forward)) they found the one place that "has" to belong the the most prominent historical figure of that time period?
Give me a break.
This is a ploy to get people to watch the show- "we put out lots of money to research, we need to make our money back- hay, lets put together a documentary!"

I'll watch it. Both out of curiosity as to the subject, and as someone who is extremely interested in archeology. I'm very doubtful that the bodies are who they claim they are. What are the chances that they would find THOSE particular bodies, out of billions of people who have died over the past two millenniums? It'll be an interesting thing to watch, though, I think.

It sounds like nonsense.
How can they even say it's DNA from a certain person when they have nothing to compare it too? Sounds like fantasy to get away with saying whatever they want.
Some people will fall for anything that's on TV or in the media.

Interesting, but do you have any idea how many Marys, Josephs, and Jesuas there were back then? It could easily be a huge coincidence.
I'd watch the show, though.

My question is that if this is Jesus, would they disprove immaculate conception by proving that Joseph was not Jesus's father through DNA testing.
I demand a paternity test.. :P
