I am dating for the first time in 6 yrs. I am recently divorced. I am currently dating a girl I really like and this weekend I told her I think about her I think about her a lot when she isn't around. She told me she thinks about me a lot too and says she "enjoys" my company. Is this the polite answer or does she really like me? How would you take it if someone you have been on minor dates with tells you they think about you often....offended? excited? scared off? I am learning as I go hear...thanks in advance.

Anyway, it's a good thing that she says she enjoys your company. It means exactly that. It is a polite answer, but it's not just a polite answer. It's a required part of getting to like you and wanting to spend more time with you. If I don't enjoy a man's company or find the time we spend are not all that fun, we wouldn't be going out any further. It's not a guarantee that you will have a great future together. That will come with more time and depend on other things. However, without enjoyment of your company, there can be nothing more. Loosely translated:
"I think about you you too" = I an interested in you too. There's a possibility between us.
"I enjoy your company"=ask me out on another date, but don't rush it.
You have her go ahead to continue to see her and ask her for more dates at this time. That's what it means. I would be excited.

First of all . . . stop analyzing everything so much! Go with the flow. You'll know if she's interested by the way she acts more than by the things she says. People can say anything, but you need to pay attention to things like: Does she make a lot of eye contact with you? Does she touch your arm occasionally when she's talking to you? Does she initiate telephone calls? Does she mention future dates?
So, yes, she could have just been saying that to be nice....or she could really mean it. Just pay attention to the other signals and remember...if this one doesn't work out, another one will. You'll do great. Good luck!!!

I would be excited. If it was the polite answer I don't think she would have said she enjoys your company she would have just ended it at, "I think about you a lot."

What you said was perfect you just simply stated that you think about her a lot. That show that no matter how small the dates you too still had a strong connection. You are doing great!!!!

I say that to my boyfriend too--Its beacuse that's how I sincerely feel--that I am enjoying being with him, I'm having a good time, he makes me feel good, etc.
