got a pot of pesta sauce, not quite sure what to cook it with

ONCE YOU DRAIN THE PASTA, OPEN THE JAR OF SAUCE AND PUT IT IN THE PAN THE PASTA CAME OUT OFF

You can do a few things with pesto. I most recently used it on a pizza. It was a pillsbury recipe... roll out crescent rolls into a square pizza, spread with cream cheese & pesto, then top with veggies and bake for 15min. It was pretty good although I'd keep it as several smaller pizzas rather than one bigger one as the center didn't want to cook up as well.
On pasta is another good way. You can also add to bread like someone else suggested. It would make a MEAN garlic bread! Mmmmm.

yes just add it to cooked pasta.. go carefull as some pesto is stronger then others
green pesto goes very well with gniocchi..
red pesto goes well with orrechietti..
spaghetti is a favorite to have with pesto...
my mother-in-law would faint if she could see the recipes suggested on here.. pizza? chicken? give me traditional anytime
when served don't add parmesan as pesto is made from parmesan... it needs nothing added and no side dishes just pasta,pesto and red wine followed by a lovely green salad with crusty bread

I love it with plain pasta and some nuts and cheeeeeeeeese.. Or you can spread it on a bread and grill it.. with a little butter.. it's lovely. All lovely ideas.... i posted a recipe place wich gives you great recpie ideas to do with pesto like Crispy Baked Pesto Chicken and so on...

Oh yeah.... It is sooo tasty.... but make sure you buy a green basil pesto with a 45-48% basil content.... then toast some pine nuts in a pan ..... cook your Penne until al dente...... Drain and stir in pesto...add pine nuts and serve.... Grate parmigano and black pepper.......
I sometimes add a scoop of mascapone cheese ....or a sloosh of Double cream.... Also you could fry a bit of diced chicken breast and stir in aswell ....Yum

pesto is nice with pasta, and chicken
or even chicken on its own. cook chicken as normal and put a spoon of pesto and mix it
even potatoes with a bit of pesto mixed in.
maybe add it to a bit of chicken in a sandwich

This is the 21st century! You can cook it with just about anything. Experiment with it. It's what you decide what tastes good that matters. It goes well with pizza,chicken,seafood,vegetables etc. Have fun with it

Mix it with plain hot pasta--sparingly--a little goes a long way! You can also mixit with butter and spread on hot bread--yummy!

yeah its great with just pasta i think you get the best flavour then with some crusty bread or garlic bread on the side goo food...enjoy
