Is that the limit of your view?
You should be more concerned with your inner being than your outside appearence. To say that would be the same as asking "why do we have to die?" Your body will fade away to dust. We all will die - somehow - someway. It's after death that you should be concerned with.
God wants to save your soul. But if you can't get deeper than the flesh, you'll never be saved.

Christians do die and get murdered. In Psalm 121: God the Help of Those Who Seek Him, it says,
I will lift my eyes up to the hills-
From whence comes my help?
Myhelp comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your at your
right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from
all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going
out abd your coming in
From this time forth, and even
forevermore.
Holy people would sing this song as they travelled into the dangerous mountains where rebels and other perils lied. Some of the paths were narrow that refers to "He will not allow your foot to be moved," and yet some of Gods children did fall.
So if we break a leg or get brutally beaten for what we believe in it doesnt change our relationship with God. We could have one arm and still be in Gods protection. Bad things happen to good people theres no doubt. But we must never get mad with God and always keep our faith strong. Amen.

God did protect our family when a fire started in our house. there was a short in the wiring of a record player that had been left on at night.
i believe God woke me up to turn it off. thats when i saw it spark. so i warned the family later the next day. then i went to the evening movie theater.
my young sisters played the record player. and the fire started.
no one got hurt.

If you have lived to ask this question we can all say that you were saved or your life was spared. If you are speaking of someone who has died then who are we to say that he suffered? His soul could have been removed before the fire touched him.
