We do not know. That is the only honest answer. Anyone who tells you otherwise is merely speculating or, at worst, has a mission to steal your life and entrap it within a cage of ideology and misplaced faith.

Christian believers are totally convinced that there is; but much more importantly, we believe in Life BEFORE death....and want that to be available to all people (Hence the Fair Trade Movement, Climate Change Lobby, Drop the Debt, opposition to human trafficking, etc.

There is no decisive evidence. However, as all aspects of human consciousness can be shown to derive from brain activity, it seems highly unlikely that the self can continue after brain death.

I was reading to my Grandmother.she was in a nursing home. she had cancer. suddenly her eyes got bright. she smiled. raised her hands up.looking up. and cried ,Jesus !! and passed on.she saw someone .I told this to a women that works around older people who she would see them or hear of them dieing . and she said that wasn't a rare occurrence.
