I started packing my husbands lunch about 2 months ago since he was eating fast food EVERY day. I have been trying to mix it up a bit so he doesn't get tired of it but I'm beginning to feel as if I'm packing him the same stuff all the time. He does installation work so he doesn't have access to a microwave so whatever it is has to be good cold. Help me please!

My dear, go to walmart and buy a thermos! My daughter has a hot lunch at school every day. I put hot water in the thermos to preheat it while I heat her food, and then put it in the thermos-It stays hot for 8 hours. I pack her spagetti, soup, mac and cheese, tortellini, cous cous, pasta, stew, leftovers from the night before, you name it. Make sure you get a good, glass insulated thermos, and tell him to handle it gently. Ideas for cold lunches would be cous cous salad, his favorite meats or cheeses wrapped up in a tortilla with lettuce, veggies, etc. Cornbread salad. Taboleah salad, rice salad. Just open your mind a bit. My daughter never has the same thing twice within a month or two, as we just keep adding new things. We like to experiment with ethnic cuisine.

Pasta Salad. If yo make it with lots of cheese then it will be more filling.

Pizza is also good cold.

You could also throw in a pudding, a fruit cup, a yogurt.

You could get him a soup thermos and start sending soup to go with his sandwich.

Bagel & cream cheese?

just make shure the sandwiches have variety.

IE

Albacore and sprouts
Beef and Havarti
turkey and co-jack w/red onion
tuna and cucumber

etc......

make em big.

oh and include a special picture item, this will keep him away from the fast food , for real.

You could include things like subs, wraps, quesadillas(which you can eat cold), carrots, crackers, apples, cheese, jello/pudding, etc. Ask him what he would like in his lunch and be creative. It's so sweet of you to make his lunch for him!
