My brother and I are having a disagreement. Him and his girlfriend came over to my house, I had otehr guests as well. We were all sitting aroung a table in the bar (our private bar in our house, not like a public bar), and they were constantly kissing each other. I think that is VERY rude, he thinks he was just being nice and showing this girl that he cares for her. I think he should show her that in private.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with a little kiss in passing, but toi sit there kissing for like 10 minutes straight and do it over and over in front of everyone else makes everyone uncomfortable, and is just rude. He thinks there was nothing wrong with it at all and that we are just picking on him.
What do you all think?
(by the way he is in his 40's, not a teenager)

Wow,
i pictured him to be like 16 or 17, untill you said 40's.
It is rude, and teen like. but he could be going through id-life crisis. they tend to act like teenagers at that point, again.
I do think it's rude. I think porn is degrating, so why would I want to watch a live show.
And exspecially with my brother. EWW
Like you said, pecking on the lips or cheek is fine, it's cute.
But anything that lasts longer than half a second, or opened mouthed, should be saved for the bed room.

I'd agree with the other answers, I thought he was a teenager too until you said he was in his 40's. This sounds exactly what teenagers do, they're all over each other in front of people to show everybody that they have someone, so they constantly have to kiss each other once every 15 seconds. I was a basketball game when these two students were liplocking more than watching the game. They kissed more than the team scored baskets.
Tell your brother and G/F to get a hotel room

Well I think there is a fine line between tasteful and grosss. I think at any age, making out at the table in front of guests is just plain bad taste. I would have to say, especially at the age of 40, one should know better than doing that kind of thing. I think PDA is WONDERFUL, but MAKING OUT??? Thats a little much. I woulda tossed some cold water on the two of em!! Lol!

It all depends on who you're with. If he's in a group of his friends and none of them care, then it isn't rude. But if he's in your home and you've let him know you're uncomfortable with it, he needs to be respectful of you and wait until a more appropriate time. His girlfriend should know he cares about her whether they're constantly lip-locked or not. Maybe you should try asking him if he's such a terrible boyfriend that she doesn't know how he feels unless he's sucking her face? ;-) Different behavior is appropriate in different situations, it's common sense.
Bottom line is: your house, your rules. Brothers don't get special privileges just because they're not afraid to stand up to you. If he can't behave himself appropriately, let him know he's not invited over until he learns how.

Sounds like he has him a trophy girlfriend. He wanted to get the attention of everyone and he did.She must think poorly of herself to allow the child like behavior in front of everyone. If she didn't she was probably just over 21, a lady never does such in a crowd.I'm glad to see that there is some out there that appreciates there home and their other guests.I absolutely agree with you PRIVATE...

this is not any longer mandatory. If a kiss is going to "passionate" it's time to pass someplace private. It became into thoughtless and immature no count who you have been in front of. Your roommates do no longer opt for to work out it the two.

I'd say "a kiss" is fine but "kissing" during a get together is a little weird and uncomfortable for the other guests.

"The world needs more love".
Yeah it's weird to see old men like Tom Cruise making out. Hey, when you're that old, it's kinda cute that they still find passion. I hope when I'm that old that I can still make out.
Now, it's rude because you're uncomfortable. And the gentleman thing to do is to make everyone feel comfortable. Certainly in smaller parties where you hope to engage in conversations, then a make out session is hindering this big time. Tell your brother and see if you can compromise in the future. Remember, the lady like thing to do is to make your brother & his girlfriend feel comfortable too, so think out polite ways to tell them how you're uncomfortable and how you'd like it to go in the future.

I think its rude to make out with your bf/ gf in front of family, I can see it being different if its a diff group of ppl like friends(in certain situations) , or if its just a small kiss. I agree thats uncalled for. and its way worse that hes older.
