With enough time, money, and a well equipped shop, anything is possible.

Would it be feasible? No.

be nice wouldnt it. but no thats not possible. hybrids run off full cell technology. kinda complicated to explain here.but both a small gas engine and electric motor work together at the same time.or just one or the other works depending on driving situations.the fuel sell works off a of a hydrogen principle. converting water to hydrogen gas.through that process the hydrogen is burned to power a generator that recharges the battery .that powers the electric motor.the cool part is you dont have a tank for water like for gas. the water vapor is collected from the emissions of the small gas engine.then used by the fuel sell to make hydrogen.making the prius for example highly efficient while producing almost zero hydro-carbons.those hydro-carbons are the ones being blamed for global warming.and thats a whole different matter.you could convert it to propane if you wanted.its cleaner burning.better miles per gallon. but its 3.23 per gallon last time I checked.a few days ago...many people bought 4runners thinking ..."its a toyota..it will get 20 miles per gallon"...lol a 4 cyl version of the 4runner maybe. but those were rare and under-powered for a vehical that size.but you cant complain too much the v6 toyota 4runner of any year is still one of the nicest and best made suv's on the road today.we are still some time away before the hybrid (fuel cell) technology advances enough to make it availble on larger cars and trucks. but it will happen someday...............E

I wouldn't try it, those new hybrids get worse gas mileage than a standard 4 cylinder car, its a waste of time and money to even try to convert.
