My 6 month old kitty just got nutered and declawed today. When he comes home on Wednesday what can I do to make him comfortable? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE!!!!

Move his water and food bowls close together, and put out a pillow or a fluffy, soft towel (something he can rest comfortably on) nearby. He won't have to walk very far to get to them this way. Put his litter box close too, but obviously not quite so near his food or he might not eat it. Ask at the vet's office if there are "booties" or little socks your cat can wear around the house until his paws feel better, or at least try to restrict him to a room that has carpet (easier on his little feet). Spend a lot of time with him, pet him and reassure him, and keep kids and loud noises away from him if possible for awhile. He needs to readjust to being home, and on top of that, he's been through a trauma. Hope this helps and good luck to your kitty. :)

our new 9 month old furry baby was neutered and declawed on thurs. feb 22. he came home saturday. the only special thing we were told to do is either use shredded paper or a brand of cat litter called "yeaterday's news". he did not have stitches after neutering. the vet said he'll do what he feels good doing and avoid things that he knows will hurt.
it doesn't hurt to give him extra cuddles, kissies and spoiling too. ours was so gald to be home,he ran right to his kibbie bowl, crunched some kibs, drank a few laps of water and then made a beeline for his litterbox. came out and jumped up on my lap. you might want to help him down if he jumps up for a few days.

he will almost definitely hide when he gets home! and possibly hate you for a couple days (you know how cats can be). I'd stay out of his way, let him relax in peace and quiet and let him come to you for attention. Keep his food full and his water fresh, he'll come around quickly! good luck

He might just want a nice soft fluffy "cave". You should get a box and put a blanket it in. He might just want to be alone for awhile. Make sure he has plenty of food and water. Try to keep it quiet around him too, im sure he has a nasty headach

I would put the kitty in a separate room until he heals. This way he will sleep more and have less destractions.
DO NOT GIVE KITTY ASPIRINS. DANGEROUS.

When i brought my cat home they drugged him so he couldnt feel anything and they didnt want him walking but we let him out and he tried to walk and he was falling over because he was soo drugged, we didnt do anything special.. he was normal, except for that he was drugged and trying to run around and falling over.. but thats it

Make sure the vet give anti biotic and pain killer.
