I totally got the giggles today in our staff meeting over something really inappropriate, and I just couldn't stop. Why is it always funnier when you know you need to stop laughing??

i have the same problem!!! i take a yoga class with my boss and we had our legs over our heads, we looked at eachother and started busting out laughing....the rest of the class was compleatly silent and there was peaceful music going and all....we couldn't stop for our lives!!!

The more you know you shouldn't giggle during something serious or whatever, the harder it is to resist.
You think you have it bad, my mom used to do that to me in church all the time....she knew I couldn't stand it when she sang and that her high pitched voice cracked me up so she would do it on purpose and really belt it out.
Pretty warped sense of humour no? Unfortunately I have just as warped a sense of humour and likely my kids will inherit it too!

I do the very same thing, i always laugh when i see somebody fall over, nasty and childish i know, i suppose it's because i feel embarrassed for the poor sod falling over.
I also get the giggles during practice meetings and it drives my manager mad, but when she shoots me daggers i carry on, mind over matter, i dond mind and it dont matter.
Anyway laughing is good for you and more people should do it!

The human mind has a tendency to laugh at times when we should not be laughing i.e. it has a tendency of doing things we ought not to be doing in certain situations.

Because we're human and we can't help ourselves. We will laugh at something that looks or sounds funny but afterwards we see the extent and seriousness of the situation.

Cause..you're not spose to be laughing.. and you're trying to hold it back...and it's funny because you can't stop and you know you have to and you can't let it all out! Wow, this was harder to explain than I thought, even though I didn't really explain it haha, but really good question!

Sometimes I think things that are so not funny ( like laughing at inappropriate times) tend to crack us up!!!
