Your computer reboot itself because there is timer that has been set that will automatically shut your pc off. check on the accessibility features of your pc and adjust your timer. Sometimes your pc is working too fast and it goes on automatic reboot either because it crashed or you have made an illegal activity prompting your pc to shut off. or you could look at your system reboot panel from the beginning to check the configuration of your pc reboot system.
If these doesn't work then maybe some virus might be causing your pc to reboot when you perform a particular command Or perhaps your pc is overloaded with commands it shuts down. This usually happens to me when I opened too many windows in surfing the net,
Take care and don't crash your pc..do a defrag and clean your disk...these will help your pc compress whatever information you have stored giving you more space.

Until then..

awesome question.

wow, it poses so many theological questions with such proficient use of the english language to get across the situation with such clarity.

It's almost like, I wouldn't even have to be a mind reader to know what's going on, the question you pose could be left for children and prophets alike to ponder through the ages in a quest for spiritual elevation.

Why DOES the computer reboot itself? is it on a constant quest to clean it's RAM (i.e. slate) and be reborn or is it merely falling over and over again but getting back up with stubbornness to succeed? is this a mirror to our own lives?

I'll get back to you in a couple days after some serious soul searching, until then, good luck my brother

Hi there!
There could be a lot of reasons. For me to correctly answer this question, I'd need a little more info.

-What kind of computer you have
-When it reboots (right after startup, when working, randomly...)
-How long you've had it
-anything else you think would be helpful

Just add these things on using the add details link.

That can be a complicated question, you need to ask yourself a few questions, I.E. what caused this problem ? Have you installed any new software/ hardware, were you on a possibly shady website that may have put some ad ware, spy ware, or a virus on your PC ? It could also be a power source problem, or something you changed in the bios. The best advise I can give you without knowing more about your problem is to unplug anything that is not needed to boot the PC, like printers, scanners, web cams, or anything of that nature. Then boot your PC into the bios and set it for fail safe defaults. You may also try to boot in safe mode and run a virus scan, boot in safe mode with networking and connect to the trend anti virus website they have a very good free scan that will fix many problems including viruses, male ware, spy ware, and ad ware.

probably a virus. reboot in safemode (press F8 at startup) and choose safemode w/ net. run virus scan and adaware as well. retry then.
