What was the old way of making marrages in china??...(If a girl) Was it desided by a match-maker of some kind or by the father?? If it was a boy, would he be able to deside who he wanted to marry or was there an arranged marrage involved?

The old way of marriage in China, everything should be decided by the parents, no matter you are a girl or a boy. Usually it needs a matchmaker. Sometimes the marriage will be decided even before you're born. Two close families sometimes will make a bond. If the two families get a boy and a girl respectively, the two will get married.

the old way was pre- arranged marriages according to status..a noble couldnt marry a rice farmer.. and actually marriages still mostly are pre-arranged, but many are marrying for love. even against parents wishes,causing conflict and disharmoney.
