Christianity is about TRUTH and GRACE.
When people hear the truth they think they are being judged. They don't understand the grace involved. Only God will judge in the end.
and that's the truth...

Paul talks about not judging people outside the church. Because they don't know any better. But if a church member is publicly sinning without repenting inside the church and wrecking its good name, then they should be removed, at least until they realize their sin and repent. Also the people who make the decision to remove the person must not have a plank in their own eye as Jesus said. But that verse is not a cop out to let people do whatever they want.

Because people spend way too much time worrying about what OTHER people are doing. It is extreme arrogance that anybody thinks they have the right to worry about anyone's sin other than their own. If you don't condone certain behaviors, then don't do them. The statement is not misused. It's used in exactly the same manner that Jesus himself used it. When people were criticizing another's sin, HE said "He who is without sin, cast the first stone." He was saying that YOU do not have the right to judge anyone else until you yourself have reached perfection.

Christ gave the priestly apostolic line the authority to forgive or bind sins, that is, to judge. We have judges elected or appointed to judge secular issues. Church doctrine is judged by those in authority in the church.
Christ spoke against the person, having no theological or secular authority to judge, who would act as a judge.
When we form opinions and relate these opinions to others, that is not judgment as defined biblically. When a teacher assigns a grade for work, they are not judging the person, they are judging the work. Spiritually, we are all judged by our works, for there is no other way for us to be known as righteous or not. Faith without works is dead, just as the fig tree that bore no fruit and was cursed by Christ.
So if you state our observations to another about their bad habits, or actions, you are merely using what God gave us all to reason with, our minds. Yet, we must remember the commandments of Christ to love our neighbors and to love God. Discussing another's faults should be done with this love in mind. If you are scornful or condescending you cross the boundary of loving concern to judgementalism.
Unfortunately, some Christians have wandered off the love reservation and lost their way. This happens because of the sin of pride, the same sin that landed God's perfect creation in the shape it is in today. I believe that what a person sets into writing is a greater act of consciousness than what a person speaks from their mouths. So, when one writes some of the vitriol that we see in this Forum, especially from self-professed believers, we are giving deeper evidence of the state of our faith to others. Some may know the Word of the Lord, but they demonstrate by their actions that they do not know the Lord of the Word.

Certainly we are allowed to judge whether a certain course of action is right or wrong, sinful or not sinful.
We should not judge how God will deal with sinners because he knows their hearts; we do not.
We as Christians do have the obligation to help guide ones from a path that can lead to eternal destruction, and help guide them onto the road that leads to life. (Matthew 7:13, 14) To do this we must be able to discern right from wrong, or in other words, to judge. This is in harmony with Hebrews 5:14, which says: "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

Christians don't tend to leave it with just condemning the "sin". They frequently follow by saying unless the "sinner" asks Jesus for forgiveness they are going to hell. At this point they ARE judging.

John 7:23,24 Jesus said
"If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are you angry at Me, because I have made a man every bit whole on the sabbath day?
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." 1 Corinthians 6:2 "Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?"
Judging is not telling unbelievers what the Word of God says about sin. How would any person ever know that they needed to repent? I wouldn't suggest sending a baby Christian to an unbeliever, but a mature Christian is suppose to snatch the unbeliever from the fires of hell if they can. And we are to preach the gospel in all of the world.
When Jesus said this He was speaking to the temple Jews who were listening to Him speak. These men of the temple knew who studied Jewish laws because if you didn't learn in the temple it wasn't taught. Jesus answered them, and said, "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent Me."
Apostle Paul said we'd not only judge the so-called religious folks, but we would judge angels one day. We are to mature in the knowledge of the Word of God so we can discern between good and evil in the world. However, baby Christians judging is often disastrous.

That's usually the ansawer of someone that doesn't want anyone to tell them about their sinful lifestyle. The same lifestyle in which you have openly observed but not judged. Jesus told us to preach repentance and remission of sins. If we can not aknowledge the sin then how must we encourage you to change and inform you that what your doing is wrong?

God said to use righteous judgement. When you point out where scripture says it's a sin, then you are not the judge, your just the messeneger of the judgement.
but you yourself can not condemn anyone to Hell, that is God's job.
we find problems with people confusing the judgement of God with ours, when we try to tell an unsaved person that they are sinning. Matthew 7 tells us not to cast our pearls before swine, that they will tear it up and come at you again. basically God says just exactly what happens hear is what would happen. You give them scripture, and they turn it anyway they can to use it against you.
Mt 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
they need salvation before they can understand their sins and turn from it. we are to be clear of the sin before we can help them. read matthew chapter 7, and see if it helps you any.

It's a misunderstanding of what judging means. So many people think that pointing out a fault is judging, it's not. Judging is when you put yourself in the position to pass sentence on someone. That's not your right...only God's. Such as telling someone they are going to hell. But actually, the Bible says we are to let our brother know when he is doing something wrong. We do this out of love and not out of a desire to make ourselves look good.

People are too busy looking at what everybody else is doing, and not looking at their own life. The Bible tells us, we will know them by the fruits they bear. Being saved does not mean you are perfect. We all still sin. I say let God be the judge.
