Hey has anyone noticed that the beacon over City Hall is almost never lit... and when it is lit, it's not as bright as it first was... Does anyone know what happend to it? Did people/building owners complain it was too bright. I kindah miss it I thought it was the coolest thing. If you knows anything let me know what you've heard or read?

Yeah I remember it well that bluish white beam of light cutting through the night. I remember city hall making such a big deal on how much money was spent to refurbish it. The gal above mentioned it was due to cost cutting. I kinda doubt that because a see that ugly DWP building all lit up at night, that building should be in complete darkness (it’s such an Eye Sore). This is what I heard, I heard that it’s turned on only during the Christmas season but that doesn’t explain why it’s not a bright as it used to be as well as why its occasionally turned in once in a great while.

They do not shine it as often. I remember some years ago they talked about some energy saving measures
