My hair is getting long and annoying, but I don't know what to ask for... I usually just ask for a trim but I feel like having a change... but don't know what style to ask for... I know what I want but... how do I describe it? lol... I don't really have any pictures of what I want...

If you don't know how to discribe the style that you want then you need to find a picture. Look, I know this is a scary concept...... but why don't you get a hair magazine.
Stylist are NOT mind readers and it's the best way to make sure you get what you want.

Try working with your stylist while he/she is cutting your hair. At least tell them what you don't want. Maybe the stylist has a good style in mind ask there opinion. I know it is harder to find trendy styles for guys because there isn't many styling books for men. Be the first guy to come up with a new trend the shaggy skater look is getting old. lol!

Have some long layers cut in. that way you aren't doing anything drastic but would be a notable change.You could even add some slices of colour.

It depends on your face shape.
If you want to make your face look longer?, make your eyes stand out more? lengthen your neck?

there should be hair magazines in the salon, and most have a mens section. there might be a picture of what you are after or something similar in there.

If your adventurous then go to a hairdresser that is reputable and ask them to do what they want. Give them a level ur willing to go with ie adventurous, stylish, dyed, punk! thenleave it to them

i think side fringes look good on guys if u have a oval shaped face or sommin like that, look on da internet 4 face shapes, work out which 1 u are and they will have advice. or just go with what u feel like. You could try clippin it up with your sisters (if u have a sister) clips nd find wat looks good xx
