I love the thought of Buddhism but I'm too selfish according to my girlfriends. It's a colourful way of life, and practising Buddhists are happy folk in general. Buddha looks like a fun guy too

I love my deities, and its super fun trying to pronounce their names!

Yu-huang, Yuan-shih T'ien-tsun, San-ch'ing, San-kuan, San-yuan, T'ien-shih, Pa-hsien, Lu Tung-pin, Ts'ao Kuo-chiu, Chang Kuo-lao, Li T'ieh-kuai, Ho Hsien-ku, Han Hsiang-tsu and Han Chung-li.

Try pronoucing all them after a few drinks!

And what could be more selfless than giving yourself BODY and soul to more than one woman(!)

Every time I see the Dalai Lama on TV I think: he looks like the soul of happiness and contentment.

I think Buddhism makes great sense. It's a very practical way of life.

As far as deities go, you can't get much more happy than Ganesha.

your girlfriends are etheir right, and a more spiritual life like buddhism would be helpful to you, or they are hateful and put you down due to their own self-esteem issues, and people like that are in no position to give spiritual advice. i would highly recommend looking into any belief system that interests you - maybe some of those websites from one of the other posters would be a good place to start - good luck!

You could try worshipping a new age kinda way... How about starting the church of porn? ... Cos its my idea I would like to be made a living saint... I could be the patron saint of women and kickboxing... KNEEL DOWN AND WORSHIP....ehe... YEP... KISS MY RING...ahaha......

But only too soon would there be splinter factions vying for control over a ravaged, bleary eyed, hairy palmed flock of squared eyed freaks....

Sorry, I think the christians got there first...

A second Century Christian by the name of Tertullian said. "The Christian Saint is always hilarious" I agree.
Buddhists, incidentally have a very wide range of beliefs from atheism to polytheistic ancestor worship.

Ganesha - he rides a giant mouse, he's in charge of luck, his mother is Shiva, Hindus love him. I have a small shrine on my desk. Wikipedia him - he's the best.
