I'm not sorry that I don't feel sorry for someone who gets hurt or killed while crossing accross 8 lanes of traffic on an interstate. In an unrealted case, I also don't feel sorry for this guy who fell down while trying to run accross a busy 4 lane road while it was raining. He slipped and fell in one of the lanes and people got out to help him. I thought the guy was an idiot and I don't help ioidts. To me, he should have waited for his turn to cross when the light changed.

Am I wrong in feeling this way? Surely there are others who feel like I do.

Well I think you are being a little bit callous. I am sure you have been an idiot before and were grateful of any help that you recieved. Nobody's perfect.

I understand what you're saying. Everyone has done something dumb, likely more than once in their life, but it's pretty stupid to do something that is very risky like that. Who knows what was going on in thier mind. The guy in the rain made a choice of get even more soaking wet or cross where he did. I'm sure he never thought he would fall.

People cross at stupid places where they shouldn't all the time. For YEARS I've seen students cross a road 25 feet from a cross walk, because they don't want to walk down the road, cross, and walk back to catch the bus. So they just run across the two lanes and at the same time others could be crossing at the crosswalk too...it's a mess...complain as you will politicians don't seem interested until someone gets killed I suppose so think of that foolish person as a sacrificial lamb in some instances.

Personally i would feel sorry for anyone accidentally killed no matter what the circumstances. So what is it...you are either young and callous or older and colder. I live near Orlando Florida , I have been at a traffic light there where there was a crosswalk and 3 lanes of traffic either way, the lights were timed too quickly, none of the pedestrians i saw trying to cross were able to do it in time. You have to feel for your fellow man sometimes.

One should always feel compassion for the loss of life. However how the life was lost is a different story. Trying to cross an 8 lane highway is crazy and maybe they knew that. They might have broken down somewhere and needed to call for help (who knows?) and had no other choice but to cross (given the benefit of the doubt).
We all do stupid things (especially guys!) but what we really need to do is learn not to do it next time, unless you absolutely have to. Lets learn from our mistakes so that we don't do it again.

No, you're a real Mother Theresa. Just think, the more people you look down on, the bigger you must be. Next time you're looking for one of humanity's losers, check a mirror.
