OK. First, let me say that some people who read this may not believe that we were created by a divine being. That's fine. Don't answer. Second, some people may say that we can't KNOW what's in God's mind. That's fine, too. I'm not asking why God created us. I'm asking why YOU think God created us.

God is a creator.
Creators create.
Why us?
A part of the answer is in Genesis 1:28
"God said: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
Originally, the purpose was to make the rest of the earth like the Garden of Eden, have children and to employ and enjoy the animals.
Imagine a paradise earth with billions of humans living in peace.
There would be other projects after that first one was completed.
Ecclesiastes 3:13 says:
"every man should eat and indeed drink and see good for all his hard work. It is the gift of God."
However, that original project was temporarily post-poned.
Life now is about getting back on track.

It's an open forum, I'll answer if I want to :)

There's no evidence of any kind that "god" or any other divine being created us. None. And plenty of evidence to show that we evolved naturally, without any "divine" help.

The whole creation story falls apart rather quickly. I mean hey, I'm just a plain old human being, but *I* could do a much better job of "designing" a human that their mythical god apparently did. I'd make a human body that wasn't susceptible to self-attacks (cancer). I wouldn't give men useless nipples. I'd re-design our eyes, which have the light sensitive cells *backwards* and are incredibly prone to detached retinas and corneal problems...those faults are easily explanable by tracing the evolution of light-sensing organs in animals, but make no sense if we're "designed" by some omnipotent all-knowing god. There are hundreds of other dumb designs in the human body that any fourth-grader could have done better than your mythical "god" -- so either your mythical "god" was a lousy designer, or we are what we are because of natural evolution. Since there's no evidence of any kind for this mythical "god," I'll accept the mountains of evidence showing how we naturally evolved. It's the only reasonable conclusion a person can arrive at -- anything else is nonsense, wishful thinking, and magical voodoo for which there is no evidence of any kind.

Well I want to answer the best I know from what information he has given us through the Bible. Which is to worship and grow in reverance to him and in the end to live with him eternally. There are still questions that dig a little deeper than that, such as; why did God need us on top of his heavenly hosts of angels to worship him, were they not enough? Was God in some way lonely? are we some form of entertainment or drama show that God is having fun with just merely observing or maybe intervening here and there?
All I know is what information he has chosen to reveal to us. I trust that info (The Bible), because I have sought out a personal relationship with him and he has only proved himself to me by showing that he is trustworthy and means what he has said, to me personally and through the Bible. Could it be that in the end I come to find out I was just a toy for God to play with and be discarded at his amusement by way of death, possibly. But that would be an absurd way to go about my life, especially seeing as how I find my life most organized and joyful when I am thoroughly seeking Him and talking to Him.
Through faith and trust I believe he created us for very good reason which we will find out in thorough detail after our time here is up.

Consider this : An archaeologist digs deep into the desert sand and finds a piece of an old clay pot. After his investigations, this archaeologist can tell us, from this little old piece of dusty clay, so much about the civilisation that existed thousands of years ago that produced it; he can tell us about the types of ovens, temperatues, and dyes that they worked with, the raw materials that they used, and thus assess the level of their artistic skill and technological ability, etc. All this from a small piece of clay lying in the desert.
Did this archaeologist ever see the civilisation that produced this pot ?

How does he know that it ever existed ?

He knows because he saw that the piece of clay was produced by someone who designed it, and shaped it, and had the intelligence to be able to heat it and produce the pot, and not only that, they also had the ability to colour it and make it look beautiful.

Design ==> Designer.

To the archaeologist the existence and intricacy of the piece of pottery is conclusive proof of the existence, intelligence and ability of the people who made it.

Look around you: at the beautiful sunset on a summer evening, at the moon and the stars on a cloudless night, at the water that you drink, at the trees and how they grow from tiny seeds.

Think about yourself: your eyes with which you see, your ears with which you hear, your tongues with which you taste and talk, your hands and your feet, your heart and your brain.

Consider how these things are so complex in themselves and yet work together in such perfect harmony.

From the movement of the galaxies to the complexities of the interaction of molecules, from the dynamics of eco-systems to the intricacies of DNA, all lead to the obvious fact of the existence of the great Wisdom, Knowledge and Power that allows our Universe to exist and function.

To any perceptive person the existence and intricacy of creation is conclusive proof of the Existence, Knowledge and Wisdom of the One who creates, organises and sustains it.

Most people naturally recognise the existence of the Creator, and we find reference to the Creator in all cultures and religions. Even the atheists, communists and (disbelieving) scientists cannot avoid this reality, but avoid the term 'creator', for phrases like 'Mother Nature' and 'the amazing way nature has designed...'

How strange in the face of this, that many today reject the belief in the existence of the Creator. Perhaps this is due more to fashion and the desire to justify a materialistic attitude to life rather than real observation and comprehension of reality.

Something stranger still, and perhaps another reason for the trend to deny the Creator, are those who claim that a man, or men, who walked on the earth, breathed air, who had bodies and souls subject to the Laws of the Universe, are the Creator, or manifestations of the Self-Subsistent One.

This is of course a complete contradiction in terms. Something cannot be the Creator and created at the same time, needing air, food and drink and being self-sufficient, being temporary and eternal!

If you are one of those who believe that a man such as Buddha, or Krishna, or Jesus is the Creator and Controller, then think again.

We were created from a drop of despised fluid, in which was a microscopic sperm, which in turn fertilised a microscopic egg and we grew in our mother's womb in stages predetermined, over which we had no control. We came from our mother's womb, urinating and defecating, needing constant attention and care. Without food we will die, without air we will die ... and then such a one is God?

Indeed any intelligent person would recognise exactly how dependant life, the universe and everything is on its Creator. Our dire need for His help makes itself plain in times of great distress.

Imagine yourself in an aeroplane and you know it is going to crash...

Who do you turn to for help then ?

Or on a ship in the sea, thrown helplessly up and down by towering waves ...

There will have been a situation at one time or the other in your life when you called upon your Creator alone, forgetting everyone and everything else, hoping, trusting, wishing that the Being you know in your heart and soul that has power and control over all things would help you. The only One you know can save you!

To start a family of course!........God and the Spoken Word of God (His Son) who were a Family of two, created us in Their image and for Their purpose so they could enjoy us and have fellowship with us in a perfect garden paradise. God already new that man would sin and fall from His grace and would continue to do so over the course of centuries. So that's why He sent His Holy Spirit (the Spoken Word; the creator) down to earth for the redemption of ours sins, and to have a way back to our Father in heaven. Now, at this stage the earth is having birth pangs and we are at the very end of the last days before the return of Jesus Christ. The earth will soon give birth to a new creation and a new Family of God as Jesus Christ comes to receive the true saints (followers of Christ) of God those who are dead in Christ will be resurrected first and then those who are living. They will be changed (born again) in the "blink of an eye" into their new glorified spirit being bodies and reign as joint heirs with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God on earth for the Millennium (1000 yr) rule. Jesus will take His rightful Throne in the new Jerusalem and establish His Government and rule the world as Lord and King. His saint's will rule under Him in His Government (King David, apostles, prophets etc.... and the rest who are of Christ) as Kings, Priests and Teachers. The earth's infrastructure will be rebuilt after the massie damage brought on by the nuclear holocost of the Antichrist, and a functioning society will continue. They will bring the rest of humanity throughout the world the Word of God. in every Country, city or remote areas ot the world who has survived the tribulation and those who are yet to be born and die to learn the Word the Will and the ways of God and there will ultimately be peace on earth. Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord....... Immedediately after that there is the White Throne Judgment that takes place. All of the people of the world that have ever lived and died who have not understood nor heard of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be resurrected and will have their first and only opportunity for salvation and become true children of God. Satan will be released one last time to tempt the population but it is only the overcomers the will prevail and have eternal life. Eventually most of the human race will have come into the Family of God and the earth will soon once again have birth pangs and give birth to the new creations of God. At the end of that era the earth will be consumed (purified) by fire and made new. A new kingdom (heaven) of God on earth will be established and the new sons and daughters of God will join the rest of us with our Father to live in eternity. The vast universe with the millions of galaxies that are viod and lifeless are waiting for us and will be open to us for all eternity.........That is our purpose here on earth, that is why we are born, to be in the Family of God for eternity.......
