I've fed my parakeets bread and crackers, and boiled eggs should be fine as well. I'm not too sure about peanuts though.

Here are some of the foods you can feed your budgie - in the source list offers recipes for Parakeets.

Dry foods and carbohydrates
Offer pasta, (cooked or uncooked), cooked rice and cereals such as Kix, Cheerios, Chex and Grape Nuts, Carr’s Table Water crackers, couscous, Kasha, etc.

Seed mixes
Some seed mixes may include Volkman’s small hookbill super, Vitabird, Kaytee Perch Mate and Kaytee Fiesta.

Greens

Offer dark leafy greens such as: kale, bok choy, endive, spinach, carrot tops, radish tops, broccoli, collard greens, mustard greens and herbs. Suspend greens above the bird’s favorite perch with a clothespin or clip to encourage it to investigate the greenery.

Other items small hookbills will eat include: human foods low in fat, sugar and salt are also acceptable.

Vitamins such as Avicon, Avitron, or Super Preen may be offered.

A cuttlebone and/or mineral block should always be present.

You should be able to feed them all of those things, although white bread is nutritionally poor.
I used to feed my parakeet popcorn as a treat, he'd go nuts squawking until I put one in the cage, and then it looked like a chainsaw hit it, white stuff everywhere. Made him happy though.

omg im sorry! :0 perchance they're undesirable in supplementations. provide them dark leafy vegetables including collard vegetables, kale, swiss chard ect. and sparkling end result. NO avocado, chocolate, or alcohol or mushrooms. and please no longer something out of a can that's a lot too sugary or salty. sparkling is maximum suitable.

you can always put it inbetween the wires of the cage. Because it's new food, they may be reluctant to take it straight from you (even if they take food out of your hands) give it to them, if he doesn't like it, don't give him anymore. These products certainly won't kill a bird.
