Or do we go by the Old Testament on that one?

Did Paul say it wasn't OK?

Or are daughter's fair game?

I guess desperate times, right....?

VERY good question. You're obviously a thinker and I like that, although we have differing opinions.

For those who don't see the "catch," the Mosaic Law prohibited incest (Lev. 18:6-18 and 20:11-14, and Deut. 27:22-23). Since Christians are told that the Mosaic Covenant is no longer opperative (see Romans 7, for example), then how can we rely upon Deuteronomy to prohibit incest?

Incest is a type of fornication (sexual immorality). Under the New Covenant, Jesus tells Christians to abstain from sexual immorality (which includes incest. See, for example, Matthew 15:19). He doesn't name the specific types of sexual immorality, since the only type of sexual contact He preached in favor of was between a man and wife (Matt. 19:4-6).

Paul also preached against incest at 1 Cor. 5:

1 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s wife! 2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

So yes, Christians are pointedly told to abstain from incest.

EDIT: Before some folks send me "nasty-grams" berating me for encouraging this asker, let me just say that it doesn't bother me when a non-believer tries to trip me up. We should ALL be on our toes and ready to give an answer for the faith we hold.

Paul did not like anyone to have sex...so forget him. Jesus did not say anything about incest. There are many references to sex and sin in the Old Testament.

When asking these questions seriously, one must consider more than just who said what...they must consider what was the acceptable practice of the society of the day. Most "do not" warnings are there to address societal problems more than to establish sins. Even those things which did become sins...one is no more wrong than another and Jesus death and resurrection took the burden of death for sin away.

No one really knows what Jesus said or didn't say..all we have are a set of story books that have been literally interpreted through different languages and then when we go to church it is even further interpreted. So I wouldn't make judgement calls based just on the bible or on any one thing alone.

Everybody knows that´s a nasty and horrible sin. For your information, not only the AT spoke against incest but also Saint Paul excommunicated someone who comitted that horrendous sin.(Read the letters to the Corinthians, that´s in the NT)

1 Corinthians 5:1-2 Paul writes...

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. 2And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?

Mother and son--same thing.

What do you mean by sleep with your daughter? You mean like just sleeping in the same bed or having sex with her. God adressed that issue in his law to the Israelites in Leviticus 18. Why would you even do that though?
