From my Grandmothers lips...to your ears....She swore by this and its something everyone in my family does....most importantly....it WORKS!

Take a glass of water, preferably luke warm....add just enough salt to it to make you think - BLECH! And then gargle three times (gargle for about a minute...then spit it out and repeat) Do this three times a day....and your throat should start to feel much better by the end of the day.

I swear. I never thought it worked when I was younger...but the older I've gotten, everytime I get a sore throat, I do this and it works.

Then.....get yourself some Zicam.....My Grandma would turn over in her grave but this stuff works too! (She fought off colds with the salt water and those menthol inhaler things....I think they were from Vicks but she always had at least two of them on her and when she'd get stuffed up, thats what she'd use)

Hope you (or whoever isn't feeling well) starts to feel better really soon!!

My mother always had me gargle with warm salt water. My family physician told me to gargle with Listerine. Whatever I do, I usually take some tylenol. You can also buy throat drops and if you can't find those usually a cough drop will give you some relief too. One really nice way to soothe a sore throat is to have some of your favorite ice cream. The cold helps ease the pain at least temporarily. (-:

Sore througth do to sickness can be helped with gargling warm salt water. Dont swallow =) . THis also helps to kill the bacteria that is in your throat causing it to be sore. Honey is another natuarl remedy. A small spoon full of creamed honey works if you suck it off the spoon and if you have liquid honey put it in some tea. It is thick and it coats the throat helping to relieve the discomfort. Hope this helps.

The best thing is to gargle 1/2 water and 1/2 benedryl, don't swallow. The benedryl will numb the site and allow you to eat and drink comfortably. Also at night if you want to swallow the 1/2 and 1/2 solution you can and it will put you to sleep. =)
