You mean like Hercules is similar to Alexander the Great? Like Zeus and Anon are sometimes thought to be the same people.
A myth, unlike what it is referred to here...is a story told down through generations that often becomes the history of those people. No one really knows if its wrong or right or part of some other belief.
Further it was common, even before Jesus and Christianity for a "new" or "winning" religion or world belief to adapt a lot of the losing belief into it as this helped the people to adapt to the change.
All in all we are just back to the same old, same....Jesus is our Savior...what ever others there are that may have been similar...maybe they mean something to someone else...but for Christians...we believe by faith that Jesus is our Savior.

First you have to determine who Jesus was. There is scant little evidence that Jesus was a historical person. The Gnostic Jesus seems to be purely mythical, lacking a historical context. I think it is entirely possible that Jesus was part of a Gnostic myth cycle who was adopted first by Paul (who doesn't seem to be aware that Jesus was ever a historical person), then put into a historical context by later writers of the gospels. Also notice that the writers are trying to emphasize who they believed Jesus to be. Matthew seems desperate to prove that Jesus was the promised Jewish messiah. So much so that, he rips small verses from the Old Testament out of context and tries to apply them as prophesy fulfillment of the messiah. If you put those verses back in their proper context it becomes clear that they are not prophesies at all, or are prophesies that have already been fulfilled.
Watch the documentary "The God Who Wasn't There." They cover this question in depth.

God has given a "witness" to himself in each and every way of existence. someplace in the traditions of each and every way of existence there is something to assist human beings draw close the Gospel. in one tribe in New Giunea, the heroic figures are people who may be the main traitorous. So Judas became the hero in the Jesus tale. yet they did have a "Peace baby." whilst 2 tribes have been at conflict, one among them abducted a baby from the different and raised that baby as its very own. each and every time hostilities broke out, they might endure in recommendations that baby - now the organic and organic tribe of that baby would not attack a tribe which sheltered its son. it fairly is like Jesus-he's our peace baby who got here to earth to stay in our tribe. i haven't any situation with the version of pagan traditions. Christmas is the occasion of the arrival of the easy into the international. What extra acceptable time to rejoice tha than in the ineffective of iciness? Easter is a occasion of latest existence, with new issues being born in the spring. hence, eggs, bunnies etc. Easter, via the way, would have adapted some pagan symbols etc, yet its time on the calendar is precisely concerning to the passover-it fairly is a valid calendar commemoration of its very own.

There are similarities with a few. The cult of Isis almost always had Isis breastfeeding he son. Mithra was born on Christmas day and he dies and ascended to heaven too. The followers of Mithra also did the wine to blood thing. There are many striking similarities with other legends and religious persona in antiquity. and these two I mentioned are older than Christ.

When you raise someone to mythological status this tends to happen, and has throughout history. Any person who has achieved this status without a finite set of empirical evidence as to who they are/were, to refute such a thing, usually winds up like that. It's a perception issue.
IMO based on historical study of religions and general history, Jesus probably was a teacher and a very wise, compassionate one at that, similar to the Buddha, but nothing more. His whole life, based on one or more sects after his death raised him to that kind of mythological status... it's just human nature.

My theory is that a historical Jesus was cobbled together with various pagan gods to make the message seem to have more authority.
whathappentothisnation: all you are saying is "regardless of all your opinions and ideas, only mine is the right one, and you will regret it if you don't convert to share my belief." How arrogant.

Whenever a person makes a statement that begins with the words "Seems like to me ..." All that person is doing is breaking one of Yahweh's Ten Commandments - commiting Idolatry.
Regardless, of your opinion or ideas; Yahweh is the Only True Living 'God'. His Holy Word says that anyone who commits Idolatry is guilty of breaking His Law and will be eternally punished. It is for this reason, that Yeshua suffered on the cross for YOUR wrongs, died, and rose again so that IF YOU believe in Him and repent of those wrongs; will be forgiven.
These are not myths and did not come about out of human ideas. It is the absolute truth and If you do not believe in Yahweh's Holy Word (Bible), that will be a decision you will have to eternally accept.
Yahweh does not push people into accepting His Eternal Truth. Just as Yeshua freely shed His blood on the cross for all to have forgiveness of their wrongs, you are free to either accept or deny Him. Your personal ideas, thoughts, and opinions does not and will not change His Truth.
