How do you tell a co-worker that you highly respect that their breath is very unpleasant? w/o coming across as rude. I can handle a little morning breath but we're talking about smell that really upsets your stomach. Thank you!

Oh, I have tried mints and gums. Shoot for christmas I gave everyone in the office (15) basket of goodies with it came a little bag that had tooth brush/paste /mints/gum and mini mouth wash. He does not smoke and know for a fact that he brushes after lunch. But his breath is still hard to digust. I would talk to him about his breath I am sure I am not the only person that feels this way.

I have seen this problem far too many times. I manager several hair salons and it is really bad for a hair stylist to have bad breath. So I do very discreetly say your breath is a little offensive and I wanted to tell you before a client did, here's a mint. Wouldn't you rather be the one to say something privately rather than a customer or a supervisor? I would. And if I had that issue I would hope someone would tell me. Maybe if it's that bad something else could be wrong like an abscess or worse. Don't feel bad telling them it could be for their own good, just be honest and discreet. Good luck.

Whatever you do, Don't tell them, because they will be offended no matter what. BUT go to the store and buy you favorite breath mint, and when ever you see this person offer a mint and keep doing it until hopefully they catch on themselves, because just maybe they don't know.

I know just how you feel. My coworker smokes and it smells so sick when she comes back from a break. I'd say buy some mints and eat one and then offer them one and if they say no, just smile and offer again. They should take the hint.
