She got Active Maturity 7 + instead of the normal food she buys, will our cat be okay with this?

I'm sure it will be fine. If you're worried about it, you can always take it back if you haven't opened it and have the receipt. It's probably a little lower in fat than the other food. It will be nutritious and when you run out you can get the regular food again. Some cats are finicky and won't eat anything other than their regular food, but some will eat anything. (-:
You'll just have to see how it goes.

Switching a cats food real quick like that spells diarrhea and or stomach pains. Better to take it back and get what your cat is used to. Anyway, a one year old cat is still active enough where she is going to need more calories than a seven year old cat. Its certainly not an ideal situation.

It won't hurt it, but why not just return it and get the right formula? I've never been refused when returning cat food, even open ones.

I say it won't hurt her this once, but cat foods these days are formulated for ages, weight, etc.; so a long time diet on this probably won't give her the nutrients she needs as a one year old.

Your cat should be fine - just remember to transition to the new food gradually by mixing it in with the old food in increasing amounts.
As long as the packaging says the food is a 'complete' diet that complies with AAFCO feeding standards, it won't hurt her. She is one year old, so you don't have to worry about keeping her on a kitten formula.

Petsmart will allow you to return open bags, so if it's convenient, you can just return it to avoid upsetting your cat's stomach with a food change.

a lot of cats can get sick if you suddenly switch their foods. Cats actually have very sensitive tummies. Your cat might be fine, but I would really suggest returning the food to the store and exchanging it for kitty's regular brand. good luck!

I have 3 cats and I have made that mistake also. They get all different kinds of dry food. It doesn't seem to upset or bother them. When your cat finishes this food, just go back to what you were using.

You should probably exchange it for the right food. Different aged cats need different nutrients.
