i ama stylist. This can be a number of things. If you have tried dandruff shampoos you need to see a dermatologist. This could be a number of different scalp disorders. I dont feel that this is because of left over shampoo or conditioner. It could be psorisis, ring wormof the scalp, or a minor scalp infection. You will need to have this checked because some disorders can be contagious. If it is as bad as it seems, a hair stylist willnot be able to give you a RX shampoo. ONLY a Dr can do that. Hope this helps a little.

I am not sure what this could really be,However I think you should get in contact with your doctor, because the way you describe your scalp it sounds like your scalp could be infected from something or even your shampoo could be affecting you scalp. So try a doctor . They recommend that you use a special shampoo, or tell you not to shampoo daily.
I hope this helps you

Well, it could be loads of things:
You could be using the incorrect shampoo for you hair/scalp type and so getting a reaction.
It could also be that you're not rinsing your hair properly and so building up shampoo in your hair. Leaving shampoo in the hair is the same as leaving detergent in clothes...they become hard and flaky with soap...its the same with hair.
It could be cradle cap with is treated with the correct shampoo and the application of almond oil on you scalp or a light case of psoriasis...
I suggest you see a dermatologist.
Take care!

It seems to be that the "weird crusty yellow buildup" is because you are washing your hair too much. Go and see the hairdresser and they will tell you what you need to do, or go and see the doctor.

Using wrong shampoo. If you was your hair every day choose very light shampoo specially formulated for everyday use. I think at the moment you should use deep cleansing shampoo to remove build up on your scalp, but no way us it every day.

Try T-gel shampoo you can get it from your local chemist, pharmacy and most supermarkets it's not very expensive.
My husband has mild psoriasis of the scalp and it helps him, if that doesn't work then better check with your doctor in case it is an infection.
Good luck and take care.
