B.C is a religious term meaning Before Christ.
B.C.E. is a secular term meaning Before Common Era.
nothing has changed, it is simply two different ways of dividing time. Perhaps you see it more because more people are using it.

The Bible never uses either term. The calendar and date system to which those belong did not exist until well after the Bible was written.
The term BC refers to dates before the birth of Christ. The term AD (from the Latin for Year of our Lord) refers to dates after the birth of Christ. The terms were created by the early Catholic church.
However because not all cultures acknowledge the birth of Jesus as a dividing point in history, in the last few years the terms have been replaced with CE (Common Era) for the term AD, and BCE (Before Common Era) for BC.
It is a move to be "politically correct" and has nothing to do with changing the Bible. Only the history text books.

Secular influence shift.
The terms aren't actually used in the bible itself. The use of BC and AD for numbering calendar years was invented by Dionysius Exiguus in 525 AD (or CE). His purpose was to determine the correct date for Easter under the direction of Pope St. John I.
The need for the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar came about because a year is not exactly 365 days long. It is actually 365 and a quarter days long. Every 4 years, March 1st moved behind a day until after centuries instead of being early spring March 1st was now the beginning of winter. Something had to be done.
The Gregorian Calendar was introduced in the Catholic parts of Europe in 1582 A.D. by Pope Gregory XIII (then the religious leader of the Roman Catholic faith) as an improvement upon the Julian Calendar to keep the average length of the calendar year better in line with the seasons. (Leap year was invented.)
The widespread use of the Gregorian calendar and the use of BC and AD throughout the world came about thanks to the colonization practices of Europe and economic pressures of a world-wide economy led by Europe and the United States. This is gradually changing as more and more academic writers prefer the use of BCE and CE.

B.C. = Before Christ.
B.C.E. = Before Common Era
BC is used by scientists and basically everyone on the civilized part of planet earth. BCE is used by those who are offended by Jesus, but must nevertheless acknowledge that the calendar divides time up at His presumed year of birth.
Neither exist in the Bible because these are dating systems developed later.

It was not changed in the bible and it was changed by the Jewish people who do not accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. They simply changed it to Before the Common Era so as not to base the calendar on Christ.

They refer to two different things although they are functionally synonymous.
B.C. means "Before Christ" and harkens to the Gregorian calendar.
B.C.E. means "Before Common Era" and was an attempt to make the "western" (Gregorian) calendar more universally accepted in a world of increasingly sophisticated global commerce and communication. The term actually gained use in the 18th century but the 20th century saw its use spread far more than before.

tghe bible hasn't changed
secularists have changed there attack on our christinaity with renewed verocity yet subtleness
BCEstands for befor eteh common era
CEnow stands in place of ADas the common era
The beautiful, almost poetical 'anno Domini,' Latin for "in the year of Our Lord is being wiped out by philistine secularists - our cultural heriatge is being eroded in such an obvious attack against religion. the main perpetrators of this fad are academics i was told at university to use these abbrevaitions - regardless to say i refuse to the disbelief of my teacher
Sing it - anno domini - the year of our lord - the bit you saw may have made it into teh intoduction of a secular bible - don't buy it, people of an intellectual nature must resist this mockery or our culture and our heritage - and not accept a below par and political addition to our calendar

" They" didn't. When a Christian refers to that aspect of the calendar, he or she says "before Christ". When a Jew refers to the same time period, he or she calls it " before the common era".
