I have a 2 year old Beagle who I take almost everywhere with me. When she was a puppy she would whine occasionally but for the most part pace in the back seat. She has morphed into the most annoying and loud dog over the last year though. She whines constantly and paces. I've tried ignoring her, I've tried talking to her, I've tried staring her down... nothing works. I started using a harness that clips to a seatbelt but she will get so tangled I worry about her choking. Any advice is helpful, I'm going crazy.

i think a crate is the answer. she won't be able to move around in the car and endanger you or herself. when she is in the crate, you can give her a kong stuffed with something delicious or a bone to chew. she might feel more secure that way, and be less likely to whine. some dogs get agitated by the motion going by the car, so a crate will keep her from seeing that. hopefully this helps!

Does he have something to maintain his occupied on a similar time as in the motor vehicle? I could desire to have some form of thrilling bite toy or nylabone for my domestic dog while he rides in the motor vehicle otherwise he's everywhere. he's in simple terms feeling uneasy in the limited area. How long has this been happening? If no longer the rest works, you may desire to continuously positioned him in a conveyable kennel ingredient or use the doggie seat belt, even however I doubt he could like the two of them.

Is your car big enough to hold a crate for her? That would stop the pacing. And a chewy would give her something to do.

Sounds like she has anxiety issues with the car. Try a crate...or leave the dog home.

I had to put my dog in a little cage in the back seat. You may need to drug the dog for the first few trips so they are calm and get used to it.

get a traveling crate, and that should get her used to being still in the car,
after she starts calming down let her out of the crate and she should get better from there.

You gotta put her in a kennel while your driving, she'll have to live with it. And its very dangerous to have a dog loose in the car.
Some states have laws against it.

some might protest this method, but using a good muzzle might do the trick, it tames my cocker spaniel down, and after some time, everytime when i pull out the muzzle he will quiet down immediately.
