He and the friends were lost / shiprecked / etc. One friend died, he was sick and the living friend fed him "trout". After they were rescued, he went and ordered trout. When he ate it, it tasted nothing like the trout his friend had fed him. He realized that he had, in fact, been eating the dead friend.

he killed his friends to use as bait. then ate the fish that ate part of his friend so then he got sad and killed himself. lol i tried
