i personally wouldn't have it. I do believe in the greater good in certain circumstances. This would be a good one.

How would I know? You have to provide more information. What you're saying is that everything is pre-determined. Everything is fated to happen. If such is the case, then how can my decision to abort or not have the baby affect anything? If I don't have future Stalin, then future Stalin wasn't fated to be born then was he?
If the future is unknown but I have been given insight somehow, that my child might grow up as future Stalin and I can affect the future, then I would be able to steer my child away from such a future by teaching him right from wrong, respect for life, etc.

I am a Christian. And just to entertain you, let's say that I was visited by an angel that told me that my pregnant wife will bare a ruthless dictator for a son. My only statement would be," If it's God's will that this child be born, then so be it."
From the day that child is born, I'll do what I can to protect him and those around him. It will be tough, but I will not hinder bringing that child up in the world.
I tell the truth, because I realize that through the hardest times that the child will bring, it may cause someone else to take even a stronger stand in what is morally right (by God's standards). Through slavery, many people were saved because they initially didn't know about Christ. The Jews, in biblical times, were oppressed by teh Romans, and that's when Jesus came. He saved many souls. The problem is that the Jews wanted him to save them from the Romans. Jesus was trying to get them to see that there was a being worse than the Romans (Satan) who could claim their souls even beyond death.
Now, in reality, your question can never exist. Babies that are born can be influenced to a positive role just as easily as a negative role in life. Their fate, at that point, is in the hands of the parent (or guardian).

No ones future has a predetermined path. Even if you forsaw that your child would grow up to be some horrible person, they still have the ability to change their future, and you as the parent would have the ability to lay the right foundation for them. No ones life is worth destroying because of the possibility that they COULD become a bad person. In truth, We all had that possibility when we were born, it was the choices we decided on that shaped who we were, not whether or not our parents decided to give birth to us or not. I would have the baby, and teach him as much good as I possibly could the short while I was responsible for him, which is what I would do anyways, even not knowing their future. If my child grew up to be some evil person, I would know it was not my fault as a parent, because I did the best I could, it is ultimitely up to the child. A parent can't be blamed for their adult children's choices. Give the child a CHANCE- that's what any loving parent would do.
I'm a non religious person

Some people are answering this to say that you can't know that. I'll answer the actual question you did ask. So I know for sure that my baby will grow up to be another Hitler... I think I would still have that baby. Part of me would refuse to believe I could know for 100% and there is another part of me that truly thinks that sweeping change is necessary for the progression of life. Who knows what other things might come about as a result of something like that? World Peace? Who am I to try and change the course of history :)

I'm afraid my answer won't be much of a surprise.
I do my level best to ensure that I will never have kids, so if this news was given to me, I'd simply say "well, I made the right choice then."
Were I not anti-baby, or were I to get knocked up in spite of all my efforts, I'd probably get rid of it. I'm not saying it would be a walk in the park - I wouldn't be singing "tra la la, off to have a D&C!" but it would certainly be my goal.
I guess. I don't really know. As much as I don't like kids and no matter how much the idea of HAVING one appalls me personally, it's still not an easy decision to make, and I really shouldn't be so flippant about it.
This Atheist has spoken. Albeit not very definitively.

If the child was not yet born and I learned that such atrocities would take place because of my child, I would of course abort. But I would do all that I could in order to make sure that the person making the prediction was as honest as he could be at the time, and that he truly believed this to be real.
If the child was already born, no. I couldn't do it. I would do absolutely everything in my power to stop this from happening, but I would not murder anyone in the process.
I realize that many people will say that abortion and murder are the same thing. That's their opinion. To me, they are two separate things.

We often make the mistake of getting rid of something or someone because we are told that they are no good and that they are bad for us and we settle for second best not knowing that second best was worst than the original or the first one!!
So yeah I keep the child...

No.
Someone is made by a combination of factors.--And even with that there is such a thing as free will and choice. We CHOOSE to do evil.
Everyone, EVERYONE has control over their behavior.
You speak as if someone has no control over what they do and the choices they make in life and how they decide to act out, people CHOOSE their actions,
despite their tendencies.
The future is Undetermined. Period.

I wouldn't abort my child. However, I would do everything in my power to change my child's views by giving him/her endless love and showing him/her to give endless love to others. If this fails, then I will alert the police and tell them about my child. I would rather have my child behind bars than to murder other people. I'm a Muslim.
