There are way too many variables involved to really be able to give an accurate answer.

You are TECHNICALLY considered intoxicated, if you consume more than one drink (12 oz beer, shot of liquor, glass of wine) an hour. However we all know this is rarely the cut-off point.

What many drinkers perceive as being drunk is their reaction to their own level of tolerance for alcohol. While age, weight, consistency of drinking all come into play, tolerance tends to be different from person to person.

So going back to your original question, the best way to judge how much tequila would get someone drunk is to compare to other known drinks. Say it takes the person 7 beers to feel drunk, its likely it will take about 7 shots to attain the same affect.

Its all really relative.

Thats a very subjective question. But it usually happens sometime between the first shot, and the first shot sneaking in a dozen of his buddies!

I really don't think there an average. It's different for each individual and can change each time. There are so many different factors to take into consideration.

- weight of the person
- have they eaten? if so, how much?
- have they already been drinking? if so, how much?

etc...
