Before Christians start saying this is fake wouldn't it be intelligent to wait until the actual documentary is shown before saying its fake. I myself am not just going to rush judgement about this until i do some research of my own. Here is a reccomendation
1. Get a notebook, take notes, write down names of "Scholars,Archeologists"
2. watch the documentary
3. Anyone they interview do your own backround check on
-check for bias
-check accuracy of statements made in the Documentary
- review all opinions
-Review History
Does anyone else think that this would be wise before just claiming its not real because of your beliefs? I mean many biblical scholars agree that the Bible cannot be used as an accurate historical document. Wouldn't it be wise to watch the show first before ripping it apart with things you have read on bias websites?

Mellissa I love your answer! Great attitude. I mean Science isn't out to disprove anything and alot of people think its some kind of vendetta or something.

No Svetlana your wrong, Faith is about believing when all evidence points to the contrary. Faith is believing without evidence. Not analyzing evidence and then believing. Thats what religion is all about, believing without evidence.

Svetlana S. has a wonderful point and intelligent answer.
Amazingly that the Christians contradict themselves within that story. With the discovery of the James Ossuary, the Christian world was all joyous and pointing at anyone else and saying that was proof that Jesus existed, etc. Very interestingly that they have found that the James Ossuary is a fake.
However, now that they have found something that may point towards Jesus being much more man than God, Christians once again are point their fingers and saying there is no way that it could ever be. To quote the Associated Press Article, Amos Kloner (Archaeologist); "It was an ordinary middle-class Jerusalem burial cave," Kloner said. "The names on the caskets are the most common names found among Jews at the time."
OK, based on that statement Mr. Kloner, who as a scientist should have a non-biased attitude, appears to be very biased by stating that it was "an ordinary middle-class.....burial cave". Why do people hold so dearly that that Jesus could never have been middle class and had an ordinary burial? Just because some stories have stated otherwise, we have to accept that stories throughout history are filled with inaccuracies and myths. There have been many stories throughout the world that have "warriors" or "holy men", etc buried in chambers either in "pure gold armor" or larger than life, etc. When are we going to accept that humans are fallible to the "telephone game" or stories as they were passed down. We have a tendency to add things on in order to make stories better and more fantastic, look at Hollywood for example, they would not be half as successful in their movies if totally based on the true story.
In addition, to further analyze the quote, he states that the names are the most common amongst the Jews at the time. Hence are we sure that the stories about Jesus are about the same person, since the name was so common. The fantastical stories could easily, and more probably have been about multiple people named Jesus.
I totally agree with the examination of evidence and then making a "logical non-emotional" decision. It is amazing how many times when the Bible is questioned or possible contradictory evidence like this comes to light, that some people refuse to even look at something like this as it may question their faith. It really makes me wonder how many artifacts throughout history that may refute Jesus being God, etc have been destroyed by Christians due to this unwillingness to examine evidence to the contrary of their beliefs and the stories that they hold so dear. Talk about BLIND faith.

No matter the facts, no matter the results of their research, the answer will always be the same - that this is a fraud.

The essence of faith is that you start with an answer, then find evidence to support it and ignore evidence that goes against it.

Do matter how many biblical scholars say the bible is not an accurate historical document, you will find 10's or 100's of millions of Christians, including most it not all Evangelicals, that will say otherwise.

I am not wrong - we are saying the same thing.

I'm Christian and I think the documentary looks really neat. If Jesus really did get married and have a child, it would in no way affect my religious beliefs. I still believe he was resurrected and that he is our Saviour.
