There is a free version and one you have to pay for, Limewire Pro. It sounds like you got the wrong one. If you have downloaded and installed this, you need to uninstall it by clicking on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Find Limewire and click to remove it. After removal, close the control panel and restart the computer. Then go back and download the free version of limewire.

You don't add the upgrades every time they urge you to. That's when they charge you, because then you're getting into the paid-for version. LimeWire Pro has more sources than the free version, but if you want it free, stick with fewer options.

They are trying to get you upgrade to Limewire Pro. Even though they are trying to make you pay you are still open to getting sued by the RIAA.
