This happened to me a couple of years ago. There was a lovely man at work, I thought he was fantastic and was DYING for him to ask me out. We used to simper at each other a lot, but he was very shy and would never make the first move. I was told I really needed to encourage him a lot, which I did, but although he almost kissed me in the lift one day, he never took it any further.
I'm happy with someone else now, but at the time I was really sad that he didn't ask me out - we really did seem to like each other a lot.
I recommend that you start by smiling at her a lot; ask about her weekend etc, or ask her what she thinks about something that's currently in the news - anything to get her talking rather than just batting her lashes! Ask her if she fancies a coffee or a pub lunch one day. No matter how scared of rejection you might be, don't let it stop you - be friendly and open and try to get her to socialise. You can also say things like "Your hair looks nice - have you done something different with it?" If she agrees to have lunch with you, be positive and make sure she knows you enjoyed her company and would like to repeat the experience. Try giving her your mobile number - this might prompt her to give you hers too.
Whatever you do, DON'T ask or take advice from anyone else that knows either or both you, who might have a vested interest either on their own behalf or someone else's, i.e., someone who wants her or you for themselves.
I really hope it works out well for you, fingers crossed.

Seems like she does. Go up to her, she will appreciate it, believe me. A guy who cant be bothered to make the first move (even if he is shy) is a coward or not worth it. There is a really nice mushy feeling when the guy you like starts talking to you, so when you see her around or her sitting alone, just say hi, she will say hi back and if you dont feel like talking then you dont have to, but you can next time. Dont hide the fact that youre nervous or shy because you may seem like a player. Be honest with yourself and her and get to know her.... she might be a psycho, she might be really nice. Good luck!

These all sound like good signs. This has happened to me at work before and I was relieved when the guy finally asked me to lunch.

Yes they are but not that major. Try and compliment her and talk with her. Like oh your hair looks nice today. Move in for the kill slowly . When you talk to her try and ask question about her and not blab about yourself.

Oh for goodness sake...put us all out of our misery and ask her out for a drink after work or something. Then come back and tell us what happened!"
