For many people, this meaning is little more than that they hope to live day by day. Some people make religion their meaning, others knowledge, others intentionally make hate or cruelty their meaning -- no one said all meaning has to be good. It just gives us a reason to wake up in the morning and defy our purposelessness.

The purpose of man in this world is to learn through experience what divine love means. So this world is the school, the course or subject is divine love, and the teacher is life. When we are sound in the subject, we return to God. Then, and only then can we be very useful to God.
It does not matter which religion we follow, and how long it takes each person. All God cares about is that we learn and return to Him.
