There are alot of decisions we all have to make in this life, some big, some small but none the less it needs to be done to function in society and get to in life where we want to be. Making decisions should not have such a huge impact on your life, sounds more like a form of depression or confusion that you are suffering from, and your doctor might be able to help. Talking things thru with a lifeline counsellor may help, they are neutral and very understanding, You don't have to think about a universe full of choices, just the ones you need to make. Really is it so difficult to decide where you want to live. Stick a pin in a map if you have to. I wish all the best

I experienced this during a very stressful sad time in my life.
I had so much on my mind I just could not even decide where best to put a chair in the room, without getting confused & upset.
I think you may be under duresk stress & have had to deal with many issues that were hard, regardless your mind is has probably doing you a favour & saying 'enough'
Really the only thing for this is days out.
You need to get away for a few days if it is possible. Perhaps to a motel room or book into hospital or your parents. If niether of these are possible, then tell the ones your with you are not feeling well & need to have some rest or you just simply won't be able to function for them at all.
I hope you can get this much needed rest for your mind to relax & you to find clarity again.

Flip a coin. Heads I do this, tails I do that. You'll figure out later if you made a good or bad decision, and you should have a chance to try again. If it turns out bad, don't beat yourself up, just say "I learned from that."
Most people either learn from the bad decisions they made, or they just take someone else's advice and don't question it. I have done both, and I prefer to make my own bad decisions and learn from them--it really turned me into an adult.
If this is really a major problem for you, try to find a psychiastrist or counsellor. There is a disorder called "Dependent Personality Disorder"; it might be a sign of that or some other mental disorder.

I think you can get help from a councellor if you are a student. If you are a grown up you can consult a psychiatist. Indecisiveness here may evolve from low self esteem emerged as you think or this may be a feature of obsessive compulsive or other anxiety disorder. This is the rationale behind consulting a councellor or psychiatrist. The people around you can help you by appreciating the little performances you can show/acheive and to build up confidences in you. Wishing you a good come over with this problem this is Dr Giasuddin, Psychiatrist

Stay with the safety of the known- yes inside the box...begin there...if you are not a student become one...that will force you to make some decisions, and you will get better at it. Before long you will be able to think outside of the box and make decisions outside the box. INDECISION could result from procrastination and if procrastination is your problem...you have to force yourself to not procrastinate...order food...in a hurry...risk it..don't read the whole menu...limit yourself to one minute when ordering food...limit yourself to 3 minutes on a garment to wear...limit yourself to 5 min on a gift for someone else...limit yourself to a month on terminating a relationship and big things like the purchase of a new car or an apartment. By making rules for yourself and limitations on decision-making time can help you.

If this is really impacting on your life, then you should seek help. Maybe some therapy might help. Many people are indecisive, but not quite to the extent you describe. Some personalities are indecisive, such as Gemini star sign and pisces, swimming in different directions, but I think your indecisiveness may be more serious. See your doctor and see what he/she says.

Follow your instincts and try not to second guess your-self after you've made a decision. Start with small decision making first and go with your gut, if it feels like a good thing try it, if it feels like it might be a wrong choice or something may be off, then let it go. I also have that problem and always second guess my-self, but I've found that following my instincts usually is dead on.

being unable to make decisions is a symptom of depression. even such simple decisions as being faced with two boxes of cereal in the morning and being unable to decide which one. i suggest you see a psychologist or a psychiatrist. this will really make your life easier. life should not be hard, so find help

if you think about it most choices are not life changing. you also probably make 100 decisions a day without even knowing it.
