I have never met a nice, caring or loving police officer if that is what you are asking. To ruin peoples lives on an everyday basis, you have to have some hatred/evil/dislike for humanity in you. It is like the little kid in school who used to tell the teacher when me and Misty were making out in the book loft. Why would you do that? Anyways, where I am from they are too slow to catch you anyways...

I personally know 2 police officers and they are not like you describe. I have had a few interactions with police for minor things. All were related to traffic offences. None of those cops were like that. One of the tickets I never paid and a warrant was issued from another county than where I live. The local cops arrested me. One was exactly like you describe. Another at the police station was an older sargent and was pretty cool. As my luck would have it a little while earlier a high profile criminal was arrested and being a small town only one cell. The sarge let me wait in his office insead of the cell while the cops from the county where the warrant was from. When that cop got there he saw all the media there about the other guy and did not want to take me out the police station in handcuffs over an unpaid speeding ticket. He told me where his car was parked and let me walk out a side door alone. What idiot would run over a speding ticket anyway?
After the 2 hour drive to the magistrate who issued the bench warrent and fourtanatly I had the resourses to pay what I owed the judge let me go. I asked how I was to get back home. The judge said that was my problem. The cop told me wait a hour till he was off duty and he would give me a ride back home. He did not have to do that.
There are 3 morels to this story.
1. Pay your speeding tickets
2. There are idiots in every group
3. Don't judge all cops by the bad actions of a few

Do I think that cops are sadistic, cruel, and mean? No, I personaly think that the guys I work with are the most fun loving, helpful, and caring people out there. Then again while people who ask questions like this are, well asking questions like this we are getting drugs off the street, catching burglars (one last night/ thank you), and fighting with drunkards. I don't understand were you get mean, sadistic, and cruel from. Did you get bounced once? Did a friend get lit with an X26? Hey, it happens. We don't enjoy it. I personally hate the extra paperwork. Like the other night.....This guy started to walk away when we told him he was under arrest for domestic battery (beating your wife=mean, sadistic, and cruel). He got bounced one the hood of a car. He didn't give up his hands so he got pushed on a little. After cuffing we walked him to the squad and he squated down and pushed away. The other officer started to fall backwards(hurting my parter ie:someone who protects and serves the community=mean, sadistic, and cruel) I delivered a drive stun with my taser. The guy then seamed to leap into the car. Did I enjoy doing this? No. I had to in order to stop this guy from possibly hurting my partner. Were my actions as you put it, mean, sadistic, and cruel? People don't understand that what we do is not our choice. It is forced upon us by the people that we deal with. Would it not be much nicer if we had gotten a call to that man's house because he had just prepared a great dinner for his wife and wanted us there to serve or take pictures? Stuff doesn't happen that way!

you have no idea what you're talking about, do you? what about those cops that risked their lives when the Twin Towers were hit and crashing? So many cops, firefighters and volunteers risked their lives to help the lives of others! There are good and bad people in every job. Maybe you should stop being an idiot who breaks the law and realize that cops are "mean" to you because they want to spend their time on more important things than you. there are actual calls that they go on to help someone....maybe you should pull your head out of the ground and wake up

Actually I don't think Ive ever met a cop that was any of those things. I doubt you have as well. I do know from observation that after many years on the force some can become quite jaded but then if all you dealt with all day was the most horrible people the country could offer I think even your naivete would shatter.

I think you are misrepresenting these people. They put their lives on the line everyday trying to control the freaks and predators who make life miserable and dangerous for those who live in society. Then they have to deal with smarta** es who run, mouth off, steal cars, deal and use drugs, vandalise public and private property. They spend their working lives dealing with the dregs of our society. We should thank them for protecting us from complete and lawless anarchy..
Are there a few who go over the line? I'm sure there are - just like in any other occupation.
In my experience, the only ones who say the things you have said are the very ones who cause much of the trouble and the police have come down on. Too bad.

No, not unless you are putting there life in danger. As a general rule if you do and behave your self most police are pretty cool.
Now if you try to out run them or shoot at them, well then sure.
If you are that dumb to have a pissing contest with a cop then you deserve to get a boot up along side your head.

they are not originaly mean they are stern and the reason they are mean is because the suspect either puts alot of lives in danger or the suspect is not folowing instructions provide hereby the officer if he says get down on the ground!!!!! then by all means you should get down on the ground and most people in this world when they see blue and red lights they asume they are going to be arrested when most likely they are getting a ticket and they drive off so its not the officers that are mean its the suspect that is not obeying

Obviously some are better than others. Unfortunately it seems a lot of people go into law enforcement for the power it gives them. These people either got kicked around a lot, or were the ones who did the kicking. There are psych profiles to help weed these people out, but thats just one part of the selection process.

Yeah...what do you know? I've been one for 23 years and I'm none of that. You seem to know very little about people...not just those of us that are cops.
When you can come up with some solid reasoning for this silly and juvenile remark you've tossed out here e-mail me. I'd like to hear something intelligent from you and not based upon I don't know what.

Cops should be exactly the opposite of what you describe. Like any profession not everyone who gets hired fits the mold. If it make you feel any better those of us in the profession don't like the ones you describe any more than you do.
