1) originally, to remove a tyrannical and genocidal dictator from power

2) to prevent the unstable new government from falling to insurgent forces and providing a secure location to foment and stage terrorist operations.

3) To protect the Iraqi people. To quote Sgt Stayton, a man who came out of retirement to enlist (he was an officer previously) so that he could participate in Iraq: "I think these people are worth fighting for. I even think these people are worth dying for."

4) To disrupt global terrorist activity. Contrary to the media, our actions over seas cause a constant thorn in the side of global terrorist organizations and as long as we are projecting power into their homelands they lack the freedom to mount campaigns against the US.

Well... No. There never were any WMDs and I think Bush just wanted to start something that might bring him fame in the future. But did you know that over 65% of Americans are very unhappy with Bush? That is nearly the worst disapproval rating in US history. Bush is a fascist and is scared of other cultures besides his. There is no good reason we are in Iraq!

1. Money-I love my country, and I'm proud to serve, but if I didn't get paid to shoot people in the face, I'd be sitting at home.

2. Pride-Those who have never worn the uniform have no idea what kind of feeling you get when you here the national anthem.

3. Buddies-It's not really the reason we join, but it is the reason we jump on grenades, charge machine gun nests, and run through grazing fire just to retrieve a dead body.

Not necessarily in that order.

For each other, not in a freedom sense, but for the person that sits to your left or right. The person who stands beside and falls beside you.
