They are only trying to mimic their sign seeking, finger pointing predecessors, the self-righteous Pharisees.Christ warned his followers to stay well clear of them!!(Luke 17:20,21)

I wasn't aware that they did. What is it they don't understand? You people keep saying this stuff and yet consistently fail to provide even a single example of "intolerance" or "hatred". If by intolerance you mean that they refuse to accept or condone behaviors and actions that the Word tells them to have nothing to do with ( Ephesians 5:11- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather EXPOSE them.), then, yes, I'd say they're being intolerant in a very obedient way. If by hatred you mean that they hate the ways of the world and the sin in it, then you are most correct. But I also think that these two words, "intolerance" and "hatred" , as they have been bandied about by the anti-God- anti- Christian crowd is really code for "surrender"- that is, you and people like you simply cannot bear having your "consciences" seared with anything that rightfully exposes and condemns your sinful behavior. Hey, pal- that's between you and the Holy Spirit. Your battle isn't against Christians: it's against the guilty conscience that convicts you of your willful sin against God and His people. As far as Christianity being about unconditional love, you are wrong again. Christ told His disciples that if any town or city they went into would not receive them or the words that Christ had given them to deliver that they were to shake the dust off their feet as a testimony AGAINST them, and that it would be more tolerable in the day of judgement for Sodom and Gommorah than it would be for that city or town. With the awesome and terrible implication in this, where do you find that Christianity is all about "Unconditional love"? If Christianity is about unconditional love, then why does hell (the Lake of Fire) even exist ? Why do all people make the false assumption that God loves all of humanity when He clearly makes it plain that He will love whom He will and hate whom He will? You know- "Jacob have I loved; Esau have I hated" Romans 9:13 ? I'm getting bored with this. More to the point I'm bored with people who make such patently stupid remarks and have no idea why they believe what they do other than they can't think for themselves and are merely saying what happens to be popular to say, and that is blaspheming God, Christians, and the Word. You obviously understand nothing and know even less. Also, what the person above me wrote. An excellent answer.

since when does unconditional love=tolerance? I love my children unconditionally, but I won't allow certain things in my house or while they live here... is that unloving? i don't think so... true Christians must stand upon the Word of God for their truth... and love by teaching, just as we would our own children. we teach our kids not to touch the stove top cuz they could get burned, right? so Christian denominations should be teaching about 'what gets people burned' and not just going about accepting all sin as ok cuz we gotta be loving

Religions, political organizations, social clubs, all the way down to individuals feel that if they tear the other group down it makes them stand a little higher.
If one religious group kept preaching about how great a rival group is, before long all their members would defect to the other group.
That's human nature - - - when you can't build yourself up - - try to tear the other side down.

Christianity is about love and not hatred of people but we are not to love sin or evil, false prophets and teachings. That means we can and will speak out against these things and if that fails, we stay away from them. You can choose not to listen, so what's the problem?
May God Bless you.

Are you suggesting that they are promoting hatred simply by calling certain activities "sin"?
A church has to take a moral stand on something. It is not just a country club where people come to swap casserole recipes.

Uh huh. There's no promoting of intolerance and hatred towards these groups is there? Christianity does not promote intolerance or hatred. Learn something about it before you try to promote such intolerance and hatred.

Go to any of these churches wearing pink half shorts and a haulter top and you will see exactly how much "unconditional love" there is.

Um...promoting intolerance and even hatred...sorta like your question here seems to be doing?
Good question... If I see some specific examples of this, I will definitely return here to comment on it.

You don't really believe that there will be this love thing until the day of Jesus Christ do you?
People have always been against what they don't understand.
What you don't know you are also afraid of. That is why people are afraid to die.
