I had an x reg for 4 years from new and had no problems at all. In fact my Newfoundland dog sat in it's larger than average back quite comfortably. So yes I would recommend.

ive had 2 clios the first was a 2000 and the second a 2003 in the first clio i done 75000 miles in 3 years and it was always packed full of heavy gear it was a good reliable car it was starting to get a bit worn by the time i got rid or it
the second clio i had for 2 years and was just as good as the first i hope this answers your question the only reason i never bought a third clio was that i needed a bigger car to carry all my gear around

I've been using Renault Clio for 3 years. Very friendly and reliable car. Buy it!

In my experience, it was the worst car I ever had. I got one when it was 3 yrs old, in the next 2 yrs it needed new brake discs, all four wheel bearings, and the catalytic converter on the exhaust needed to be replaced, that repair alone cost over £400.

I do know a few people with Clio's who have had no trouble from their cars, but personally I would never buy one again.

One of the best cars I have ever owned , Goldiemeg all the components you mention come into consumables , things wear out. I admit to treating mine quite harshly , 1.5 diesel , recently slammed on the brakes and the police still got me doing 86 on the gun and blessed me with 3 points on my license hahaha , point I make is even treated like this mine returns 57mpg when I have a light foot on. My sister liked mine so much she bought identical spec and loves hers too.

My clio has done 97000 miles and virtually trouble free, I think they are really good cars as long as they have been serviced regularly, make sure you see the service book.

Best website to look at when considering any car is www.honestjohn.co.uk. He has a section on each car and details things to look out for. It also links in to www.reliabilityindex.co.uk which is just as useful. Personally I'd steer clear.
