I have weird little bumps on the back of my arms. First of all what are they and what causes them? And how can I get rid of them? Ppl have told me to use a scrub a couple times a week and to moisturize alot but they still don't go away. Can anyone please tell me what to do or what product to buy so that I can get rid of them? Please and thank you :)

~It's a "circulation" issue. Try taking an iron pill once a day for a week.

It might be a common (and harmless) skin condition called keratosis pilaris. Check out the first link below for a picture. Does this look like what you have? KP is usually found on the backs of arms and tops of legs, although it can also appear on the face, torso, buttocks - basically anywhere except the palms and soles. It looks and feels kind of like permanent goosebumps.

Scrubbing really won't help - it will just irritate the skin further. Regular moisturizers don't do much for it either, because the problem isn't just dry skin, it's little bits of keratin (the stuff your hair and nails are made of) that clog the hair follicles. You need something that will keep those little plugs from developing. Look for a lotion with urea and an alpha hydroxy acid, like glycolic acid or lactic acid (for more sensitive skin). Glycolic works best, but it may irritate your skin. These lotions don't work for everyone, and even if it does work for you, you need to keep using it because if you stop, the bumps come back. Also, alpha hydroxy acids make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so be sure to wear sunscreen if you go outside.

There are several products out there, but they can be difficult to find in local stores. One that is fairly easy to find is Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Cream. This contains both urea and lactic acid, the milder AHA.

I know my little brother has them and he was told that they are milk bumps and that they would go away with time. I guess mosturizing would hurt anything.
