With a stock Cherokee you can't go any larger than 31x10.5 but I wouldn't recommend anything larger than a 30 because of the added stress on the drivetrain, brakes, and steering components. A 30x9.5 tire will work perfectly and make your Jeep look even better.

If you use stock wheels, 235x75 R 15 and no issues except speedometer and increased brake pedal effort.
The 29x 9.5'-15's will also fit, but they look a little funny without a lift, you MUST adjust the steering stop around 1/4" or the tires will hit the front suspension at full turn and a BIG increase in brake pedal effort. Here again, you must change the speedometer drive gear.
