the bible can be used to confirm your belief that a woman is to submit herself to your will.

Are you aware that this is a 2-way street? First of all 'Submission' in the bible is voluntarily and meant for the purpose of helping the man to claim to the level of which God is calling him for. Also, it is a form of respect for authority.
This doesn't mean she is to bow down to your feverent will - no matter what. She is submit to you only if you are doing what God is calling you to do, because that's the order of the home. This actually makes you accountable for the her happiness & satisfaction. If your house is not in order then you will have to answer as to what went wrong. You have the responsibility for her spritual growth and strengthening. If this is done correctly, you will be the sole provider for the home, while she doesn't have to work.
Obviously, there is a role for both parties to play. Man leads the wife, wife watches man's back (via her intuition).

Ur thoughts?

To a certain point I agree, But you fail to see, that the bible is talking about the ministry or the office of a deacon, They are to have their house in order, But once their children moves out it is their decision of what to do, As far as the wife, the husband is the head as Christ is the husbands head. But it will never make any diffrence what I would do, I can not force my wife to salvation, The bible says let everyone work out his/her own soul salvation, I can not save my wife, & neither can she save me, But my action can have an effect on her deciding to become a Christian, By the way, My wife is a Christian, & we have been married 16 yrs. & not one time have we ever disagree on the scriptures. I know my place & she knows hers, as far as a woman working, yes she is to be the keeper of the house, but in this day & age it takes many families 2 to work to make end meet. BTW, My wife don't work, She did when I met her, & a few years after we were married, I told her she don't have to work, so she quit, & she has been a stay home wife for 12 yrs. I am retired now. I have a good pension. Since it sometimes take 2 in the family to work, God will not hold that against them, Because he knows it takes 2 today. And there is cases where a husband is disabled, & the wife has to work.

I think some of what you say is right on in some of it is way off. I think your idea that submission is voluntary and meant for the purpose of helping the man is absolutely right. But I don't agree with your idea that a woman is to determine if something is God's will and only submit to that. The Bible say she is to be submissive in everything. The problem today is that men seem to try to get women to do what they're supposed to do and women triy to get men to do with their supposed to do and if each were to work on their own responsibility and leave the other to do theirs this system would work as God intended.

Well said. Another point I would make is that the Bible says the man is to be the "head" of the household -- which is best translated as "source" -- meaning that the man is to be the provider for his family and not the dictator.

Ultimately, "submission" is a load of crap. Respect is what the is world seems to be most lacking, submission is about control, even if it's a "two-way" street. For some reason it really amounts to someone controlling another, in marriage, religion, whatever.

Yes, that's correct. Basically, men have the much greater responsibility under God because of this scripture, but most feminists don't care about the Bible or its teachings.

I'll bet that you feel relieved to get that off your chest. Now get your nose back in the bible and come up with something else to preach about.
And may your wife watch your holey back side.

I tend to agree, but as long as the line is drawn that man is the head of the house as Christ is the head of the church. Christ was a servant to all. So yes i agree.

We are to submit one to another.....but as far as authoritative decisions are concerned....the woman isn't supposed to usurp the man.
