The angels who have not yet earned their wings.

This "Purgatory" problem is strictly Catholic.
It was designed by them to keep the poor in line.
It was also designed as a money making situation for the church.
Men have no control over God other than prayer that suits him.
The consensus was that a priest could offer prayers to get wayward family members into heaven...........Doesn't work that way.
And besides that, Few remember, but the Pope abolished Pug, several years ago. Most Catholics should know better. Ask an Italian catholic!

Now, how about a question for you?
Regarding Hell/ Lake of fire.
When did God give authority over it, to the devil. Yet in the same book, Satan and his angels are to be cast into it as their destruction.
Another point. Hell is to be eternal according to certain religions, yet people "live" there without supervision when the devil is destroyed along with his angels. Huh! The devil doesn't live forever!

If angels live in heaven and devils in hell, and as we live in a modern world, there must be a mega computer with many surveillance cameras to keep an eye on the purgatory.
Just an idea !

Heaven is the place absolutely everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is going (in accordance to Christians). Hell is the place you bypass in case you haven't any longer. The devil is the Lord in line with say of Hell. He grow to be an angel till now, yet tried to take over Heaven, so God banished him. Purgatory is a Catholic perception that your soul is going there when you die, and that your loved ones has to pay and pray so you might bypass to Heaven (i think of, yet i do no longer think in it) wish this solutions your question, in spite of the undeniable fact that it extremely is from a Protestant POV.

Depends on your beliefs. Are Heaven and Hell places or a states of being? Hell has been described as the absence of Heaven.
Purgatory is the same as Hell, with the exception that at some point the occupants will enter/enjoy the bliss of Heaven

My Mom!! She's been praying for "the poor souls in Purgatory" ever since I can remember!!

Actually - I don't know if Purgatory really exsists anymore or not. I do know - that the Catholics no longer believe in Limbo. So nobody is having to keep an eye on it!

Well, that is really a false concept about devils or demons...check out this Scripture

Job 2:1 & 2: "Afterward it came to be the day when the sons of the [true] God entered to take their station before Jehovah, and Satan also proceeded to enter right among them to take his station before Jehovah.
2 Then Jehovah said to Satan: “Just where do you come from?” At that Satan answered Jehovah and said: “From roving about in the earth and from walking about in it.”

Revelation 12: 7-12: "7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

“Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! 11 And they conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death. 12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”

These Scriptures don't exactly show the devils or Satan and his demons being in hell, but rather in the vicinity of the earth...WOE to the earth!

Purgatory is a Catholic teaching...doctrine of man, but is not Biblical...when people die, they are dead, awaiting the resurrection of the last days...

Ecclesiastes 3:19 & 20: "For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit, so that there is no superiority of the man over the beast, for everything is vanity. 20 All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust."

Ecclesiastes 9:5: "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten."

Acts 24:15; "and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."

John 11:23: "23 Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

John 5:28 & 29: "28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment."

Romans 6:23; "23 For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord."

So the judgement is not for what they have done in this life, but rather what they choose to do during the 1000 year "Judgement Day"...what they choose after gaining accurate knowledge. They have already paid the wages for sin...death.

I don't think there is a purgatory. I don't think there is heaven and hell either. I beleive in Samsara (rebirth) and after Samsara, you get united with the one spirit, O Brahman. Thank you for listening to my views.

Purgatory was purchased by Gnomes long ago and is now an all-the-fun-you-can-have gambling park surrounded by wonderful beach views.
