How do i burn my movies that are on my computer to a DVD so i can watch them on my DVD player?

I have lets say a movie thats a .avi or even a .mpeg. What software or thig can i use to burn it into a DVD that i can watch on a DVD player?

Buy a DVD burner and install it. They come with the software you'll need, most of the time.
