Can't help you with a Pommeranian. But...
Lab:
Advantages -
Temperment. They are just about the most gentle dogs out there.
Intelligence. Very smart. They learn very quickly
Companionship. They will be your best friend.
Disadvantages-
shedding and drooling
can be large. Ours is over 100lbs in good shape.
energy level. You NEED to pay attention to them and keep them from getting bored.
Overall - there is a reason Labs are by far #1 most popular pure bread bread

Labradors:
great, big dogs and will ward off strangers and possibly protect your home.
Pomeranians:
they're of the Spitz family, so they're usually very stubborn, will try to overrun you, but are good for small apartments and single people.
They usually don't do well with children, can be quite nasty if you don't teach your kids to be gentle with them.
Poms are also prone to tonsillitis, which will cause to frequently cough- even til the day they die!
My only suggestion is if you want a pomeranian, make sure it's a breeder that guarantees their dogs for life free of genetic disorders- all small dogs especially, they can get many more expensive problems than larger dogs.

What about them? You mean as pets? Or as a breeding pair? Hmmm. Well- if you're talking about pet wise which is better, these are two entirely different breeds, so I'm wondering if you really know what you want from a dog? One is large-one is small. One is good with kids, the other can be nippy. One likes water, the other will drown in it. One likes to be outside in winter with its bushy, thick fur, the other cannot be out long. One is generally quiet, the other will bark non-stop. You should look into what factors are important to you first.

You mean living together in the same house? As long as they get along and are both socialized to other dogs, no reason it can't work. My goldens have lived with a shih tsu and it was fine.
If you mean as breeds of dogs to own, they are very different sizes and different temperments. It really depends on what you want in a dog.

sounds like you are thinking of buying a dog...search for info about many breeds to see if which one suits YOU - your needs, your financial profile, the size of your house, your kids etc. Do you have time to exercise them? Would you leave the dog alone during the day? Are you or your children somewhat allergic etc etc. CHOOSING THE RIGHT DOG FOR YOU IS VERY VERY IMPORTANT. IT CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUCCESS AND FAILURE in owning a dog!
here is a good site for breed info and also has a breed selector which helps you choose the right dog for you.

the only difference i can see is the size and how much grooming there will be. both are wonderful dogs. my grandmother had a pom and he was the sweetest dog ever. quiet and a small fuzz ball. big heart.
my friends have had labs. they were big and sweet. scared the crap out of me when they barked.
both dogs are loving to family.
